Is your local Target closing?
CBS News ^

MINNEAPOLIS -- Target (TGT) plans to close 13 stores nationwide, including one in New Ulm and two others in Milwaukee and Superior, Wisconsin.

The Minneapolis-based retailer says a decision to close a store usually follows several years of decreasing profitability. The retail giant plans to close the stores on Jan. 30, 2016.

Target was hurt by a massive credit-card breach before Christmas 2013 that sent shoppers temporarily fleeing. The company also botched a major expansion into Canada and pulled the plug on that earlier this year.

Layoffs in 2015 included 2,500 jobs, or about one-fifth of the workers in the company's corporate offices in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park.

In an emailed statement, a Target spokeswoman wrote, "The decision to close a Target store is not made lightly. We typically decide to close a store after careful consideration of the long-term financial performance of a particular location."

I couldn't possibly be because Target panders to every left wing, feel good, i'm offended by..., etc. complaint their liberal soccer mom/as a mother shoppers complain about. This just drives people away who just want a big-box store to sell them household goods. Though, the Target FB page is hilarious not to watch all the offended people complain how they and all their friends shopped there so they must be making money and how dare they close said store.

I have a Target 5 minutes from my house and a WalMart 15 minutes away, I usually shop WM to avoid the perpetually offended soccer mom type shoppers.

Our local one has peacocks running wild in the lot, so maybe NBC is taking it over.

I just moved next door to a Target in the summer. Before then, I had shopped at Aldi and Walmart for the most part. Target shoppers have a completely different attitude. They wander into people, take up entire aisles without concern for other shoppers, and as a whole seem much more self-absorbed.

I have had to keep myself from smarting off to people as they were checking out for the rude way they speak to the cashiers and the insane amount of time it takes them to use the credit card machine.

Well in defense of your WallyWorld shopper it is hard to tell the offendee from the offender as both are ussually oblivious....or drunk/High.

Retailers seem to always hit financial trouble after bowing at the altar of left wing cultural deviants. i.e. JC Penney, Angie’s List, Target. Just coincidence, I’m sure.

I do not like shopping there...but:
My granddaughter lives in a small town and always asks for gift cards for Target. ( mailed one today) I am glad her store is not on the list.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, the Casa Grande, AZ store just opened about 7 years ago. The area was growing fast. Not a good sign.

Our Targets are not on the list, one in Mary Esther and one in Destin, FL. But I don’t shop there anyway. Wouldn’t matter to me if they closed them both.........................

My local Targt is the same way. The level of entitlement they have amazes me. They all think they are the most important person in the store and screw everyone else, I will stand in the middle of the isle why I decide. And don’t you dare ask them to move, how dare you suggest you inconvenience a mother! My local WM is the nearly the opposite. Most the shoppers will keep to the side to let people pass, they just want to get in get what they need and get out.

A slimey store==-that I’ve never even entered,and never will.

They always assume the left will come to them in droves and make up for any loses from ex-customers. Their customers say the same, i.e. “Sure you will loose those bitter-clingers, but millions of concerned moms/people who care about the environment/people who don’t feel guns should be in public/ etc will flock to you sores, etc.” It never happens, because they never shopper/ate/etc. there to begin with and never would.

Serves them right for letting gay activists push the Salvation Army bell ringers off their properties some years ago. I have never shopped there since; and many others like me did the same.
