Hey all, I certainly wasn't expecting to be posting a vanity like this when this morning started. Mrs. Doomonyou and I moved to Texas a month or two ago fulfilling a five year dream to get out of CA for a red state and God answered big time. We're still getting moved in and the new job is going great. As a result of getting out from behind a desk and out in the field I'm away from a total A hole boss. Anyway, I dumped about 18 pounds just being more active and out of the stress. So two weeks ago I'm starting to feel kind of bloated and full all the time and tired due to having problems falling asleep. I've been eating as much as comes out the backside which isn't Much. This morning I saw my Doc, had blood, urine work and a CT scan. Wasn't sure what to expect.
heartfelt prayers for a good action plan tomorrow, and hopefully good news.
I had not known of your illness, having met you some years after that and seeing you as a healthy person — God is great! So happy for your second chance! You add so much to so many people’s experience on FR with your several pinglists and acerb comments. Well done!
Well done to you, Myrddin! God is great!
Great to “see” you here, Jeff Head! Many of us remember, when your cancer struck, your great partnership with MD Anderson and, of course, our great Lord and Savior!
Here's one definition:
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are uncommon tumors of the GI tract. These tumors start in very early forms of special cells found in the wall of the GI tract, called the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs). ICCs are cells of the autonomic nervous system, the part of the nervous system that regulates body processes such as digesting food. ICCs are sometimes called the âpacemakersâ of the GI tract because they signal the muscles in the digestive system to contract to move food and liquid through the GI tract.
More than half of GISTs start in the stomach. Most of the others start in the small intestine, but GISTs can start anywhere along the GI tract. A small number of GISTs start outside the GI tract in nearby areas such as the omentum (an apron-like layer of fatty tissue that hangs over the organs in the abdomen) or the peritoneum (the layer of tissue that lines the organs and walls of the abdomen).
Doom-on-you. Interesting moniker. Not exactly a good kind of vibe. Not the ordinary anyway.
Let us all genuinely pray for America and our way of life according to our faith and our Constitution. We must stop the serious erosion of our freedoms. God’s word is available to us and most do not read it much, if ever.
Prayers are our connection to God. Let us trust the LORD. If America is to aid the world we must stand on the values that made us great. Forgive us LORD for our transgressions, we know not what we do. In Jesus name we pray Thank Thee Father for life , liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Praise, honor glory are thine ever. amen.
Thank God for today’s technology. Bless you both, and may God extend His healing hand on both of you.
Thanks!
Bttt prayers up.
Ditto to MD Anderson. The miracle of Texas!
Prayers for you, your wife and for your medical team, Doomonyou. I pray that the peace that passes all understanding will touch you and that God will strengthen your wife and you, even as you await your treatment plan.
Know that your FReeper family loves you.
I want to echo this poster's praise of MD Anderson. They helped my Dad beat cancer. It is an amazing place with people who are dedicated to helping you to fight and win.
God bless you and your family.
Praying for you.
God bless you and your family.
Sorry for the extended wait, but we just got most of the biopsy results today instead of Tuesday. We did meet with my GP this afternoon and got some news. Will meet with the oncologist tomorrow at three for the gorier details I guess. We spent almost an hour with him and walked through the CT scan, and the endoscopy photos and he answered every question we could think of, so I definitely feel a lot better and more informed about the whole thing. We still are in the info gathering stage, but We know what it is at least. For one thing there is only one tumor, not two as it appeared to be in the CT scan, so thats good news.
Bad news it's a Adenocarcinoma and if given the chance it does like to spread, so either Friday or Saturday I'll get a PET scan to find out if it's localized or is making the rounds.
Just an FYI We are at the Baylor Med Center in Mckinney. (But I'm still home and will be heading to work in the AM for a half day site inspection.)
Thanks all for the the continued prayers! Need another round looks like for just a localized area and not everywhere or anywhere else! God's got his handled, so we are just along for the ride. Will touch base again when we get the bottom line in a day or two. Bless you all, and thank you.
Jeff and Lisa.
Prayers continue for you to beat this enemy and have a full recovery! Your attitude is very positive and that’s so important! God will carry you through!
:)
Thanks for the update. You have been in my prayers this week.
