This could be a YUGE shift amid the 2016 political continuum. According to media reports the Donald Trump and Ben Carson camps are currently organizing a meeting to discuss future debates.
The RNC is not currently invited.
There are two aspects inherent within this dynamic that cannot be over emphasized:
* First - Similar to the DNC tactics, by RNC Rule the candidates are barred from participating in, or organizing, debates that are outside of the Republican National Committee.
* Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the RNC is Team Bush.
The RNC, as a current political construct, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the political dynasty known as the Bush Family. Currently, Jeb Bush is the candidate of the Bush family, and by extension the candidate of the RNC. Understanding this political dynamic is key to understanding the RNC/GOPe road map to nominate their candidate regardless of political opposition therein.
If Trump and Carson gather up enough support to strike against the RNC/GOPe apparatus there will be an internal war similar to the war within the republican party in 1978/1979. You might remember candidate Ronald Reagan organizing and paying for debates too.
When you combine this reality with the strategic deal-making acumen of Donald Trump, the scope of the needed popcorn buckets increases exponentially.
It is interesting, and brutally obvious to note, the Bush Team are absent from the initial media announcement:
[...] On Thursday, many of the campaigns told POLITICO that the RNC, which has taken a greater role in the 2016 debate process than in previous election cycles, had failed to take their concerns into account. It was time, top aides to at least half a dozen of the candidates agreed, to begin discussing among themselves how the next debates should be structured and not leave it up to the RNC and television networks.
The gathering is being organized by advisers to the campaigns of Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham, according to multiple sources involved in the planning. Others who are expected to attend, organizers say, are representatives for Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Rick Santorum. The planners are also reaching out to other Republican candidates.
Spokespersons for the RNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"I think the campaigns have a number of concerns and they have a right to talk about that amongst themselves," said Christian Ferry, Graham's campaign manager. The objective, Ferry said, was to "find out what works best for us as a group."
The RNC/GOPe are in a tight spot, and because Jeb Bush has his back against the wall, due to recent campaign/debate collapses, their ability to influence other candidates away from the meeting and subsequent conversation only adds additional leverage toward Team Trump and Team Carson.
This will be interesting...
A Possibility - Given the nature of their business interests and specific experience with broadcast production and media etc., it would be entirely possible for Team Trump to coordinate an independent debate format controlled and coordinated by people within his network group and contracted to meet the needs of each campaign.
Team Trump knows how to put on the event, how to coordinate the entire venture, and how to contract -for profit- the broadcast rights to any media outlet of their collective choosing. The campaigns would not only be in control of the venue, moderators and debate format, they could effectively profit from the associated revenue.
It would be beyond wonderful to see the RNC apparatus removed from the business end of selling their candidates to piranha left-wing media.
Obviously this would expose the RNC/GOPe machine to a loss of control and power. As a consequence, Team Bush would not look favorably upon such a possibility.
Go call National Review a liar for a while. They just posted an article about Carson’s involvement with Mannatech and the PBS Special he did for that company.
1st news story about this.
After CNBC debacle, Carson camp vows revolt over debates

Rather the attempt to claim credit for this or that candidate, while trash talking the other candidates, why don't you all try being glad it is happening instead?
Because of a contractual disagreement with his syndicator he left radio. I think he was fed up with many things; being an outspoken black conservative cannot be an easy life. He retired from public life and began traveling with his wife. He is on twitter if you are interested. I miss him!
I don’t necessarily agree with everything CJ and others post about Carson but MN and a few others post nothing to refute the charges. They immediately start the personal attacks.
You and I and everyone here are capable of reading the posts and coming to our own conclusions. The personal attacks are not necessary and cloud the real issues.
And what better way of doing that then refusing to play period?
LOL! I hadn’t noticed.
Simple solution to your problem
Stop mindlessly trash talking the other candidate and make a case FOR your candidate instead.
Gutter scum personal attack political tactics will be pointed out and ridiculed every time they are tried.
If you object to being treat like a scum bag, stop being one.
Trump can blunt this ‘third party’ crap. We are the conservatives, aren’t we? Might as well use the GOP’s brand against them.
Doing it their own way successfully. It would also set a precedent for the general.
Remember it well. Thought to myself, certain badmouthing individuals should straighten up and fly right, or incur the wrath.
Reince Priebus Rinse Prepuce - Loser
I’m not talking about this particular article. The title clearly mentions Carson and Trump.
I am talking about every other Carson thread where you immediately attack the poster without posting anything to refute the argument.
We should all be grateful for Carson, Trump, and all of the others willing to take on the media and the GOP for a change.
Before Fox, she was at CNN.
Good luck to them.
Rancid Pubies: YOU’RE FIRED !
:-)
Trump has read the contract and found some gaping loopholes. Watch Trump rewrite all the rules. This is absolutely delicious. Trump is one in a billion.
Are we seeing the demise of the GOPe? Maybe the rise of a true Republican Party.
All due respect...I don’t believe it’s a given that Trump would choose Cruz as a running mate...
...he may gravitate toward a Sessions or Carson or someone else entirely
Just to stir things up a bit more.
I hear heads exploding all over the establishment encampments ... and it makes me smile.
:-)
Spot on, again, dear Amntn.
Thanks for all of the articles posted by you and cj.
We’re fighting an uphill battle against the establishment. Trump and Carson...and, thankfully, a few others (at the debate)...are bringing the hypocrisy of the MSM/GOPee to the forefront. Swords are drawn!
