Detroit was once the most prosperous city in America. In 2013 it, after 50 years of Democrat rule, Detroit went bankrupt.
Now this… Today over 90% of public school eighth graders are not proficient in math and reading. CNS News reported:
In the Detroit public school district, 96 percent of eighth graders are not proficient in mathematics and 93 percent are not proficient in reading.
That is according to the results of the 2015 National Assessment of Educational Progress tests published by the Department of Education’s National Center for Educational Statistics.
Only 4 percent of Detroit public school eighth graders are proficient or better in math and only 7 percent in reading. This is despite the fact that in the 2011-2012 school year—the latest for which the Department of Education has reported the financial data—the Detroit public schools had “total expenditures†of $18,361 per student and “current expenditures†of $13,330 per student.
According to data published by the Detroit Public Schools, the school district’s operating expenses in the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2014 amounted to approximately $14,743 per student.
Nationwide, only 33 percent of public-school eighth graders scored proficient or better in reading in 2015 and only 32 percent scored proficient or better in mathematics.

And it’s no accident.
You don’t want educated slaves picking cotton on the Democratic plantation. They might get uppity and then you have to whip ‘em until they learn.
A California district just decided that 21% is a passing grade in school and 80% is an “A.” Could these fools be from Detroit?
Amazing how nuns used to be able to do this but $19,000 per year per pupil cannot.
Fortunately for Dhimmicrats, most of the public schooled public do not know that 90% is a big number.
Education is the soft underbelly of the Dhimmicrat party. I love to visualize Trump confronting the Dhimmicrat candidate during one of the debates saying, “If your path cares so much for Blacks, why won’t you educate their children?”
You got that right.
But somehow, most of these kids become proficient in weights/measures, packaging, distribution, business negotiations, sales territory protection and sales.
FWIW, a better picture would also report on how inner city charter and private schools are doing.
The funny thins is, kids are positively adept at working their many ‘devices’ and setting up their computers.... but NOT smart enough to get through school?
The basic two problems being, low IQ and poor impulse control. The two problems best illustrated by sneaker purchases.
