A KTVT-CBS 11 / Dixie Strategies Poll of over 2,000 likely primary voters in Texas shows a pitched battle taking place at the top of the GOP ticket and Clinton dominance on the Democrat side.

Statewide, among likely GOP Primary voters, Dr. Ben Carson and real estate mogul Donald Trump are in a virtual tie at 22.93% and 22.17% respectively. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is the next nearest competitor at 14.27% with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush not too far behind Cruz at 12.65%. All other GOP candidates are polling under 7% with Florida Senator Marco Rubio ahead of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (6.57% and 4.57% respectively).

Yeah. Wait until Texans find out that Carson is pro-illegal immigration.

This is the Trump Train:

He has told us about illegal immigration, and how he would handle it;

He has shown that if we had good immigration laws, we wouldn’t’t have the people that blew up the World Trade Center Buildings, the Pentagon...and has proved what needs to be done to enact the laws;

He has told us about how to get jobs back into America, and what he would do to do it;

He has a tax plan, and how it works;

He has a gun plan, and how he would work it;

He has told us obumacare is bad for the country, and what he would do about it;

He has told us about the Social Security going broke, and what he is going to do about it;

He has told us that the immigrants are being treated better than our vets, and what he would do to change it;

He has told us why he is financing his own campaign and why he is doing that;

He has told us that he wants Education back in the States, not in the federal government; and how bad common core is and why;

He has told us why he wants to shut down the EPA, and the reasons why;

He has told us why P.C. is so bad, and how it is taking away our expression of the freedoms we have;

So this is why my support goes to Trump, he makes deals, he runs multi billion dollar companies, and owns them, with someone as brilliant as this, I want THIS someone to put America on its feet again....

It’s all in how you collect the sample that you poll. If you allow democrats to self-define as likely republican primary voters, they will drive up Carson’s percentage. Gallup got out of the business of political polling entirely since their methodology was so easily corrupted by democrats that it was meaningless.

A few observations:

Trump is third among “very conservative” voters, but first among “moderate” and “liberal” voters.

Cruz is second (behind Carson) among “very conservative” voters, but seventh among “liberal” voters.

Huckabee receives more than 8% of the black vote, but less than 2% of the white vote.

Trump is first among black voters and second among Hispanic voters.

Carson does better among white voters than among black voters.

You asked the poster for evidence of manipulated political polling?

If that poll is even in the ball park it’s bad news for Cruz.

He’s my Number 1 but he doesn’t seem to be moving at all. His campaign has plenty of money, does the campaign think it’s too early to start spending it?

“I think Trump is going to step in it tonight.
I’ve been watching him.”

Were you watching Trump last night at his rally in Iowa? It was so compelling people were moved to tears at the compassion Trump showed toward some wounded warriors in the crowd.

In case you are unaware tonight’s debate is about economics, Trump’s strongest suit. I am highly doubtful he will “step in it” but you can feel free to dream on. :-)

Economics?

Oooh this is gonna be good!

(Unless they ignore him-since it is his strong suit)

Not only is Trump drawing the huge crowds, but lets not forget that the media which is trying to sink him, also falls all over itself to have him on their network because their ratings go through the roof. The ratings for the debate tonight will be sky high, not because of Carson but because of Trump. The media is scum, like Trump correctly points out.

Other observations:

“Outsiders” Trump, Carson, and Cruz combined have 40% of the 18-39 year olds, 63.87% of the 40-64 year olds, and 59.28% of the 65+ year olds.

The ones who received the largest percentage of their votes in the youngest group were Bush, Christie, Fiorina, and Paul.

The only ones who received the largest percentage of their votes from “liberal” voters were Fiorina and Paul.

This is from a CBS affiliate, the same CBS that IMHO gave out that bogus national poll.

True, and it’s encouraging that adding up Carson, Trump and Cruz, about 65% of Texas GOP voters want an outsider.

Maybe we’ll actually nominate one this time around?

“I think Trump is going to step in it tonight.
I’ve been watching him.”

That really sounds ominous, that watching of yours. I have been watching him also, and I don’t think he will step in it tonight.

Certainly, the fact that Trump will be able to say anything will be spun in a negative manner by the media, etc.
