Washington (CNN)For the first time in months, a national poll shows Donald Trump is not leading the Republican 2016 primary race, and instead has Ben Carson in first place.
Carson won the support of 26% of Republican primary voters, compared to 22% who are backing Trump, according to CBS News/New York Times. Though within the poll's margin of error, it marks the first time since the billionaire businessman's dominant rise over the summer where he has been bumped from the top spot nationally.
The new numbers also represent a reversal from the last CBS/New York Times poll, taken more than a month ago, which saw Trump leading Carson 27%-23%.

The guy has no executive experience in running anything, nor hiring people to achieve successful results. Why in the world is he even in the top when the country needs a ‘can do’ person with experience.
A vast majority of Republicans are backing candidates who will stick it to the gope.
A poll that showed trump at 22, not nearly close to the higher numbers in every other poll, Cruz not in the top five when many polls show him in third, and fiorina back up after most other polls showed her at 4.
sounds about right from the slimes/cBS...what are there, about 14 intimate relationships between cBS workers and the WH/hitlery at this point?
That is a poll put out by people who hate Trump. That still will not pull up your man Huckabee.
Let’s see how Carson stands up to withering criticism for a couple days. He will be front and center in the Dem media circus.
I think he crumbles.
Read that too quickly, thought you said “stick it to the pope”.
Then again...
So if you make four calls and three are for Carson and one for Thump, you have a 75/25 "poll" result
Where are the logistical numbers ?
I can NOT believe people will place absolute credence in a New York Times/CBS poll on Donald Trump.
Don’t believe it for a second
Let’s jump on the bandwagon.
Yesterday’s “national poll” October 27th New York/CBS poll only released the MOE 6%. This puts Carson and trump at a virtual dead heat. The MOE is a subset of a larger poll for which CBS and the Times do not wish to report at this time.
I’ll have to look at CNN’s.
Still kind of an outlier. But it ain’t over until it’s over.
Early polls, while interesting and somewhat informative, are no predictor of who or what may engage the public’s interest as of the first of February 2016. And even then, things are pretty mercurial.
Who knows, Jeb may revive and spring to the lead. Along with the flying monkeys.
Sniff - sniff....
Something smells here.
There is no way this creepy fellow is running first in anything.
Very Small sample size
The big question we must all ask ourselves is; who do the enemies of American citizens—the left, the socialists, the tyrants—fear most? Is it Trump, Cruz, Carson, Graham, or other? Who they fear most is who we should be supporting with every fiber of our being.
I bet Carson chokes on the debate later today.
This will be possibly Trumps D Day invasion night.
But of course its all MSM hype prior to the debate, ANY DEBATE, all for selling ad revenue.
Record the debate, skip commercials, or watch on Youtube.
Watch Carsons eyes closely, he hates to open up from the heart.
Trump was leading for several months and now overnight he is trailing by 15 points. I don’t believe it.
That being said. Trump has to hone his message, get back on point with immigration and tax codes and clean up his speaking performance. He has to use more of a scalpel on his enemies than a cudgel.
Every day there are dozens of stories showing how immigrants, particularly illegals, are rigging the system. Use them and stick on message.
Borders, culture, law and order will win the day.
What happened? Nothing. There was no gaffe. no news. Nothing to cause such a large group of people to abandon Trump.
Where did most of these "disgruntled" supporters go? According to the Media, they went to Carson.
Does anyone truly believe this?
No, I didn't think so either.
