What gives?
Ditto...does anyone have an email OR phone number we can storm to get them to fix this?
"Reported Attack Page!
This web page at www.freerepublic.com has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences.
Attack pages try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.
Some attack pages intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners."
And hitting the "why?" button took me to Mozilla.
The plot thickens
When I tried to reply to a posting a few minutes ago it said Malware had been detected on the FR site.
has anyone reported this to FR?
When I tried to reply to a posting a few minutes ago it said Malware had been detected on the FR site. Just tried again and it says the same thing. Won’t let me reply.
Weird—back in the dark ages, when I first found FR—I don’t recall this ever happening—and so far, Safari is still letting me in.
I think it’s the thread about the Frozen Lion Cubs. I tried clicking on the thread title, and got a nasty Malware page. Then I tried clicking on the link, then Replies, then to the OP. Same Malware page, which wouldn’t let me use the “go back” button. Had to close the Safari window completely.
I was afraid to click on anything within the message, especially since it didn't even say where it was coming from. Not that that necessarily would have meant anything anyway.
I clicked on that thread too (frozen lion cubs) and then started getting that malware warning too
They must know Freepers love frozen lion
Opera = no problems. I mostly do not use any of the others browsers ... especially Google Chrome which gives me “hash lines” after a fashion, after a screen refresh, instead of readable words on Free Republic ... I switch to Opera, from Chrome when this happens.
What a bunch of crap.
So, now my Google Chrome has become an “attack engine” for attempting to censor the sites I want to view.

So far I’ve only seen the warning in Firefox at this page:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3353291/posts
But it’s OK on Opera and Aviator
Same here.
The problem seems to involve any page associated with replying/posting. I haven't had problems clicking on a thread title.
I hope FR is addressing it, because the warnings persist, as shown below:
Wait! Please don't visit that site right now! Google detected badware on the site you were visiting. Firefox uses Google's blacklist to warn you about "Reported attack sites." We understand that you may know and trust this site, but it's possible for good sites to be infected with badware without the site owners' knowledge or permission.
I use my Chrome browser and Norton’s Safe Search to find and get on FR with my Acer Chromebook.
I got zero warnings and no problems logging on or while on.
