On the October 25 airing of Meet the Press, Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson stressed the important role an armed citizenry plays in preventing tyranny, saying, the government finds it much more difficult to dominate people who are armed.
That statement came after host Chuck Todd revisited Carsons past comments about how he believes European Jews could have limited the scope of the Holocaust had they been armed. It was October 8 when Carson said, I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed. Im telling you there is a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first.
Todd asked, So you believe, if the Jewish citizenry were armed during the 40s that they would have been able to stop the Holocaust?

Once again, let me apologize to the posters here. I have no control over this guy following me from thread to thread and turning conversations into chaos.
When this thread devolves as usual, Don’t blame me. I didn’t initiate this.
I have to apologize that apparently when this chap gets called for illogical conclusions he insists on being an ass about it.
And what is illogical about pointing out his contradictory statements? Exactly. In detail.
What is illogical about asking people to explain it? Exactly. In detail.
If you want to continue your jihad, do it from a basis of something besides your personal issues with me.
Haven’t you ever accepted a broader principle at some time in your life that superseded some specific foolish thing you stated? And trusted that people would understand everything that meant? Or are you only a perfect devil unless you specifically walk back EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY THING.
(And frankly before, Carson was speaking AS A DOCTOR not as a government enforced public policy recommendation.)
There’s an ongoing thread with people defending the protesters that got manhandled out of Trump’s rally yesterday so I’m sure someone will invoke something in defense of liberalism.
Embrace Existential Cage theory ;)
Thats not addressing the issue is it? No.
Yes it is. And further, single moms with kids are the ones who need a gun those areas the most.
Any guy who wants could barge into a home and have his way with mom or kids, if she didn’t have some form of protection.
Why anyone would want to make the public defenseless against any two bit thug out for a night of fun at anyone else expense, is beyond me.
SIGHHHHHH... don’t be misled, please, don’t accept the false premise.
Carson HAD BEEN speaking about semiautomatic weapons not “guns.”
On this we are in complete agreement.
Perhaps the most asinine thing I have ever seen posted.
Yup! Carson earlier said ban ALL THE GUNS there! /sarc
During the 100 years war, the English held because of the archer militia companies they raised which cut the French to pieces. The English archers were free men.
The French also managed to raise some archer companies but soon ran into a problem.
The French archers were made of serfs and peasants conscripted for archer service.
Once armed, the French archers considered themselves FREE MEN and were “reluctant” to return to serfdom and peasantry after their service was no longer needed.
So the French Nobles preferred Genoese crossbowmen mercenaries.
Prove that it is asinine. (I might as well ask you to prove that you are awesome. You just assume it all as first principle no proof needed.)
You are the one stating asinine things.
What semi auto slingshots or blow dart tubes do you believe he was speaking of?
Why do you hate women and children in cities?
Is this your exercise of existential cage theory?
What semi automatic weapons in the gun debate are not guns?
There ya go. Just as I said, you have devolved yet another thread into chaos.
Are you in a cage yet? Then obviously the answer is no. Should you be? IMO, yes.
If so, “existential cage theory” = “stand firm and pat on whatever bullshit you like because you are the one who gets to state what’s right or wrong, true or false, external facts and references be damned.”
I might point out that such a thing is the folly of the Garden of Eden, and if you are going to mouth off like the devil you might indeed get me to go away, but you will not be able to make the consequences from God go away.
