Ben Carson has answered critics who say he lacks energy for the Republican presidential fight, saying that in contrast to his softly spoken demeanour as an adult he was very volatile as a teenager, when he would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers.

On NBC, Carson continued: I am soft-spoken. I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasnt always like that. There was a time when I was, you know, very volatile. But, you know, I changed.
As a teenager, I would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone. And, you know, fortunately my life has been changed. And Im a very different person now.

Asked by NBC host Chuck Todd if such statements would hamstring his aspirations to the presidency, Carson said:
As people get to know me, they know that Im not a hateful, pathological person like some people try to make me out to be. And that will be self-evident.

It’s always the quiet ones ...
I’m reassured!
I love Ben, but he does not seem to have the instincts for this.
Huh?
Dial it back Ben. To much info.
Testify, Brother Ben!
That’s what we need is for these candidates to bring out what they are, either that or we’ll do it for them....
His mother was one of his potential, hammer time discussions, from what he has shared in the past.
Great testimony for christ... Not so sure it is so good as a political argument
Stop!
Hammer Time!
U can’t touch Ben!

Yes she was....I DON’T think I want a President like this...especially with what is going on in the Middle East!!!
Now you know why he wants guns out of the cities....
What’s it going to take to convince the faux conservatives at the GOP from supporting this tool?
He’s a basket case!
I think this is another Trump Trap. Trump makes a comment, Carson responds with something that can be used against him. Just like the others.
Yes. Did he change, or did he just get better at hiding who he was? This indication of mental instability, plus his seeming fondness for Al Sharpton, gives me a very bad feeling about him.
Here's a youtube video of Carson at Sharpton's National Action Network event back in April. Carson comes on at 21:21. Sharpton makes a point that he and Carson disagree about many things politically, but the fact remains that Carson came to the event, and his presence lent a degree of respectability to Sharpton. Imagine the reaction if Trump had shown up at a white supremacist event!
bump
If Trump went to see David Duke or showed up to some thing like a KKK rally, he would get run out of America faster than you could say stop....
Trump puts on some pressure and then waits to see what they say. It is remarkable how thin skinned or inexperienced so many of these candidates are. I mean a few stupid insults from trump and they seem to fall apart. In the case of jeb, you know that if he got traction that his team would have slimed his oponents on tv ads. Trump is at least honest to go after his opponents directly. Jeb wou.d have played the “i am taking the high road” game while his campaign trashed people. I sooooooo much love having trump in this because he is exposing the shallowness of these politicians and their deceptive games. I sent trump 25$ to keep his bragging rights going and growing.
At his age one would have thought that he would have learned by now that some things are best unsaid.
