Planet Earth is on a high temperature record-breaking tear this year, which shows no sign of relenting. 2015 is, by far, on track to become the warmest year in recorded history.
NOAA reports today the globally-averaged temperature for September 2015 was the warmest of all previous Septembers on record, dating back to 1880, and by an unprecedented margin of 0.19 degrees.
Septembers high temperature was
. the greatest rise above average for any month in the 136-year historical record [comprised of 1,629 months], NOAA said.

I predict November will be the hottest ever.
I predict December will be the hottest ever.

What drugs are they on.
Bullschit...
Shortest freeze-to-freeze growing season in Central Indiana for 54 years.
2nd coldest June on record. Etc,etc...
What was supposed to be so bad about this global warming stuff, anyway?
It's a cycle, their records are pretty short. It has been much hotter here--and the ground has been covered by two kilometer thick ice. Guess which is worse for property values?
Tree ring evidence going back as much as three thousand years and before the industral revolution shows similar changes.
WOW!! a whole TWO TENTHS OF A DEGREE!!!
(And they had the capability to measure to hundredths of a degree in 1800’s??)
The record increase in temperature was about 1/10 of a degree? We are talking about how many angels are dancing on the head of a pin.
Does this mean we’re all gonna die...AGAIN???
So that was September. But how about last winter when those of us on the east coast froze our backsides off and so many places were buried in 6 plus feet of snow? Or how about early summer in my neck of the woods where it was cool and damp and my tomatoes wouldn’t ripen? And a number of weather soothsayers here are predicting yet another colder and snowier winter.
It’s weather, people and it goes in cycles.
hottest ever ? i planted 300 tomato plants got 8 bushels of tomato’s and the rain killed half of them then i replanted over 150 plants and got another scant few bushels and the first freeze already killed all of them id like to know where this amazing fantastic heat was because it wasn’t in ohio !
They are also comparing sea + atmosphere temperatures in the recent few decades to atmosphere temperatures without sea temperatures in the past. Complete fraud. That is what you get from the cronies. El Nino actually cools the Earth. It does not warm it. But to see that, one has to do actual physics, which is way beyond the progressive mental capacity.
Solution, raise taxes, pledge fealty to state and stop any sort of capitalistic activity..
There’s far too much vacuous science writing and reporting these days.
Actually, there were many record breaking low temperatures in New Hampshire, New York and Vermont last week, making October a record cold month in our area. I’m thinking I read Michigan too, had record lows.
And if you dont like our data, why, we’ll just make more.
When coupled with the large proportion of land-based official recording stations which are near or inside the heat-sink islands that are cities and airports, a whole bunch of areal averaged temperatures make the entire countryside between those stations look to be at the same temperatures of the two averaged heat-sink islands defining the extremes of that “recorded” area.
This is affirmed by satellite temperature monitoring, which shows decadal decreases in net world heat (including ocean temperatures).
Note that this year, only NOAA started using these poor ocean heat over-recorders in their averages as legitimate temperature sources. The rest of the world so far refuses to jump on to including these, due to their obvious, known, fake inflation of temperature.
Your questioning of 1880’s data clearly makes you a racist, homophobe, terrorist engaging in micoaggressions...
