Trump Change: More GOP Voters Than Ever Say He’s The Man (74% LV Repubs Say Trump Wins GOP)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | October 23, 2015 | Rasmussen Reports

Posted on 10/23/2015 9:09:44 AM PDT by xzins

Bang! More Republicans than ever think Donald Trump will be their party’s presidential nominee next year.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 74% of Likely Republican Voters believe Trump is likely to end up as the GOP nominee, with 34% who say it is Very Likely. The overall finding is a 16-point jump from a week ago and up eight points from Trump’s previous high among Republicans of 66% in early September. This is also the highest number to date who see a Trump nomination as Very Likely.

Just 23% of GOP voters say “The Donald” is unlikely to capture the Republican nomination, but that includes only six percent (6%) who consider it Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

When Trump first announced his candidacy in mid-June, just 27% of Republicans felt his nomination was likely.

Among all likely voters, 57% say Trump is likely to be the Republican presidential nominee, with 22% who view it as Very Likely. Both these findings are also record highs since Rasmussen Reports began the weekly Trump Change survey in mid-August. Thirty-nine percent (39%) still say Trump is not likely to win the nomination, with 16% who say it is Not At All Likely.

“The DC establishment will never allow Trump to take office. “

Here is the GOPe problem.

Trump is unafraid of them

Trump hires only the finest private detectives, who can dig dirt on the GOPe traitors back to their fetus.

Trump is not averse to using it.

Good luck, Rove, you treasonous ba$tard!

I wish I could pay money to see little Jebby’s face when they tell him his poll numbers are too low to be at the grownup table.

Fredo Bush is going to take the fall first. Then Rubio and all the rest.

Gotta love it!

If he is the nominee, he will be the president. There are a LOT of folks in the middle and even on the left that, just like conservatives, focus on the parts of him they like and ignore the bad. They are all just sick and tired of our leadership vacuum and politics as usual.

And if Jeb Bush had these numbers what would the GOP be saying?

I AM loving it. These men(and their ilk) are wrecking the middle class, and quite frankly, Western civilization itself. I despise them.

IMHO it has to be either Trump or Cruz if we want to see real change in Washington. I don’t think Carson has what it takes and would soon be steam rolled by the donor class shortly after taking office.

The DC establishment will never allow Trump to take office.

And they will do what to prevent the will of the people?

I agree. He’s not getting there without the donor class. Sadly, the same with Cruz.

Trump is self-funding.

Granted, we’ll get his ideas, his initiatives, and his burning issues, but at least it will be above board and not some secret deal worked out with a big donor behind closed doors.

Meaningless. Even I, no trump fan, would say that at this point in time, I think he is the most likely individual to win the Republican nomination.

I will go further, I think he has a good shot to win the general election.

I just happen to think that he will be a disappointment to conservatives, especially constitutiinalist. He will try to be the white obama. He will try to ride roughshod over Congress. He will try to impose his will via executive action. Many trump cultists will cheer him on as a “Strong man,” that is until they find their god goring their ox.

Trump is not a “perfect” candidate. He is not expected to personally bomb any abortion mills. He has supported democrats in the past (as well as republicans). I suppose he was looking out for his company, his employees and family, to make sure and not antagonize democrats on East coast throwing monkey wrenches in his business operations.

But on one issue, Trump is head and shoulders above all other candidates. He is NOT controlled by rich donors, who benefit enormously with the cheap labor express. More cheap foreign workers on H1-B visa, more trade pacts with cheap labor countries, harm the middle class more than any other issue.

Trump is the only candidate dare utter the words DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS, for openers.

If Trump builds the wall, deports all illegals first, reduces taxes on middle class, takes better care of vets, and re-negotiates trade deals with China, Japan & Mexico, I will be the most thrilled American alive.

The GOPe doesn’t have to do much. They have the MSM, the Pundits, and the Blogosphere doing much of it for them.

They can urge their political partners to trash Trump and talk up others. They can have their very close associates go on talk shows and trash Trump, or lie about his chances.

They can get top party leaders to trash Tump and talk up others. Think McCain, McConnell, and Boehner.

We’ve seen this for four months. Who do you think Krystal, Krauthammer, and the FoxNews network are fellow travelers with. Think Rovian tactics.

I do believe they can support groups that produce polls that show Trump trailing against everything we’ve seen to the contrary.

If all else fails, they can and have rigged the rules so that a candidate has to win eight primaries or the whole thing can be thrown open at the convention.

They probably have other ways we aren’t aware of too.

Well of course, we’ve all witnessed DC/MSM maliciously attempting to trash Trump since 6/16/2015, the day after Trump made his announcement speech.

All failed big league.

So other than their failing trash attempts, how does the MSM/DC intend to prevent the will of the people? Do they intend on doing something illegal?

I just mentioned to you the 8 state primary win rule.

If Trump wins only seven primaries, he could be judged not to be able to claim his delegates thus throwing it open to a floor vote for the nominee.

I don’t know the rules of how bound the delegates are. Even winning states, the GOPe could go to work on their delegates trying to convince them Trump was a no-go.

This is going to be an eye opening experience IMO.

To ask the question is to answer the question. No doubt.

The path to the nomination for Jebbie would be strewn with rose petals and supportive murmurings. Not so much for Trump.

Trump must take on not only the RATs in office but the RATs out (the Media.) He must take on the GOPee in office and in the Media.

He must take on the traditionally minded portion of the base who say that traditionally, that's not the type of candidate we choose. He's vulgar and loud, shoot-from-the-lip.

We've been admonished repeatedly that support for Trump is fanboi behavior, unthinking and emotional. We've been subjected to shallow attempts to "reason" with us.

I don't engage on that anymore because I don't view those thinkers as evil, I view them as different minded.

I believe for the most part those 'non-vulgarians' operate from different basic assumptions than me about the current political environment. They operate on the assumption (and I use that word deliberately) that history provides the model for choosing a candidate. I believe it's a starting point but not determinative.

We've operated on a traditional view of elections, that each party nominates their candidate based upon ideas and that the general is decided based upon a contest of ideas. Describing it as such seems naive, and few conservatives actually think that...but I don't believe they've addressed the assumptions that follow. A "traditional" conservative candidate such as a Ted Cruz or even Ben Carson is, IMO, a recipe for failure. The media deals with Ted Cruz by putting him in the "cone of silence." The snake den of DC, again IMO, will eat Dr. Carson alive.
