In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Ted Cruz says he has a plan to begin highlighting, policy differences between him and Donald Trump. There are plenty of policy differences and there may well come a time when we start highlighting those more, Cruz tells The Brody File. In a political campaign there are seasons and phases to it as the race narrows down, as people start making choices, we may see some more policy contrasts.
Cruz has been climbing in the polls and has the money to make a serious run at the nomination. Hes been courting evangelical voters since his announcement speech at Liberty University. The truth is this: Cruz needs Trump to fade to have a realistic shot. The Brody File contends that Trumps biggest threat is not Jeb or Rubio. Its Cruz. Hes going after many of the same voters as Trump and he has the credentials, intellect, debating skills and passion to really make a dent in Trumps voter pool.
One other quote from Cruz during our interview:
I think the sharpest difference between my record and that of every other candidate is that people are tired of campaign conservatives. Theyre tired of people who talk a great game while theyre on the campaign trail but they actually havent walked the walk and I think people are looking for a consistent conservative.
Watch the video at the link from CBN News/The Brody File.
We seem to be on the same wavelength here.
I know it sounds ridiculous to some degree but Trump actually seems more humble than Cruz. Trump doesn’t pretend to be pious and he knows he makes mistakes. He just doesn’t dwell on them like Rush doesn’t either.
But he doesn’t pretend to know the full mind of God.
Ted’s about to drop off the radar...Trump’s policies are what put him at 30+ percent...
.
I keep on forgetting that you are still a child.
I got stuck taking my Girl to the Beatles concert at the Cow Palace in ‘64, and the similarity Trump’s gatherings display is quite remarkable.
.
I would like to ask Mr. Cruz a followup question.
If these illegals refuse to leave would you forcefully deport them or would you let them stay??
Can someone ask Mr. Cruz that question??
[Where are his policy statements?]

The fight is over...
This is awesome news. I cannot wait for Cruz to do this.
Ted supports the importing of foreign labour.
American citizens do not.
I have sent Ted Cruz money instead of sending any to Trump.
I think that’s about ready to change. Ted needs to lead the Senate for two terms, 12 years.
He can run for president then.
Or he could sit on the Supreme Court for the next 30 years of his life if he and he would do a great job.
My guess is that it will be Trump as president picking Ben Carson as vice president.
Teaming up they would have over 47% of the Republican structure in most polls before anybody else drops out.
Ben will carry the black boat and the evangelical vote. Trump will carry the America first block of voters. They will remove the blue collar and the moderate Democrat voting bloc from the Democrat column, devastating the Democratic Party for at least 8 years.
That’s what I would like to see happen.
unfortunately the GOPe controlls the house and the senate. Got to get them out to accomplish Conservative policies
Trump rightfully rocketed to the top because he was bold enough to use the word deportation.
If Cruz sits around with his inner circle they must discuss the fact that Americans are red-hot angry over the issue of illegal immigration.
Yet, after all this time, Ted still cannot use the word deport at his rallies. Odd? Maybe in his heart he doesn't believe in mass deportation.
Why do you continue to post this phony chart...Trying to dupe the less informed voters???
Trump's plan on illegal immigration only mentions deportation once and that's about deporting the criminals.
If Cruz and Carson dropped out, Bush and Rubio would be guaranteed to not get the nomination.
You can’t say that if Trump were to.
The Establishment is going to start backing Cruz if Carson falters. Count on it. He will be their preferred splitter candidate.
.
>> “If these illegals refuse to leave would you forcefully deport them or would you let them stay??” <<
.
Totally false dilemma.
We already saw them “self-deport” when Governor Brewer started enforcing the law, arresting employers.
The only thing that ruined it was contrived rulings from the courts.
This best demonstrates that Cruz is the only candidate that fix the problem by fixing the courts.
Without fixing the courts, there is no solution; they’ll just keep on interfering and blocking the illegals’ departure.
.
But Cruz is green on immigration! Green light as in, come on in! Visas for all!
This insistence that Trump’s support is based on mindless hero worship just doesn’t hold water. You can make comparisons to the Beatles all you want, but the fact of the matter is, it’s Trump’s policies that are the main reason people are supporting him. There’s also a certain admiration for his personality, in that he has a proven history of getting things done.
I agree .. unless the judicial mess is changed .. they will just keep releasing these people back into the public, instead of permanently deporting them.
.
Trump cannot get the GOP nomination, because none of those not presently supporting him would ever consider voting for him.
That is not so for Cruz. He is the candidate most likely to pick up the votes of those falling out of the struggle.
Cruz will be the last opponent to Bush left standing.
.
He didn’t go after Trump. Read what he said.
Well, go to TedCruz.org and ask him yourself.
