There are a lot of conservatives in Hollywood, and they’re not very welcome. It’s a big surprise that we’ve come to this juncture where people with patriotic thoughts could not find a home in Hollywood.

“Progress”, on the other hand, is a word with a positive meaning.
We need to steal the word and have real conservatives become “progressive conservatives”.
For example, “Those liberal progressives think giving everyone welfare is progress. They’re crazy. Progress conservatives think that getting everyone a good paying job is PROGRESS. Same old liberal thinking. They don’t know going forward from going backward.”
Easy to do. We just appropriate the word.

For example, if a person tells me that he supports Bush or Trump (or anyone) because he is a conservative, I disregard the part about the conservative label because it is meaningless. I respond to the part about the candidate.
So, what difference does it make if Ted Bundy wanted to call himself a conservative and Charles Manson wanted to call himself an environmentalist? The labels aren't the real problem.

When someone uses the term progressive you need to use it as a teachable moment. Instead of telling them what u think about it, ask them what it is that they are advocating we progress on. What is the progression from Freedom and Liberty that they seek? When they cannot answer hopefully the light bulb goes off in there head that it is a disingenuous term co-opted to hide the left’s true intentions.
