A Serious Question for the Trump Supporters
Red State ^ | October 21, 2015 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 10/21/2015 2:08:43 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

I have a serious question for the Trump supporters, and I hope they will be able to answer it, at least to themselves. It is a question that every supporter of every candidate should be able to answer if they consider themselves a thinking voter instead of a mindless, drooling sports fan. The question is this:

What, hypothetically, would Trump have to do or say to cause you to stop supporting him?

SNIP

............It’s supposed to matter what candidates think, do, and say. There should be a point with literally every candidate where something they have done would push us over the edge to the point that we wouldn’t support them anymore.

SNIP

I feel the people who hate Trump should pay for their own damn research... and NOT come here to do it on the cheap. That’s one more reason to dislike the Jebbies boys.

LOL - good try. If the GOPe forces Trump out I'll write his name in as a protest...

We’ve been having an honest discussion about Trump for the past 3 months.<<

Now THAT’S hilarious....

Then you haven’t been looking very hard. This myth that Trump supporters are blind worshippers of Donald Trump, is just that - a myth. While some may base their support soley on emotion, most of us have approached Trump’s candidacy with a critical mind.

Few of his supporters, myself included, have ever claimed Trump is perfect, and few, myself included, had any particular interest in Trump when he first announced his candidacy. But after listening to him, and observing him, we’ve come to the conclusion that, flaws and all, he’s the best candidate. If you come to a different conclusion, then fine, but your derisive and ill-informed comment doesn’t help your case.

Exactly. The left would pay millions, maybe billions to know that.

Doesn’t matter.

But I see from you’re posts you both try to bash Trump here and have all the hallmarks of a GOPe professional (e.g., detailed arcana about the inner workings of the FL state legislature, though you’re listed as from Chicago).

"Allow me to return the favor: What would it take, what would the candidate have to do or say, to cause you to drop support for Bush? Or Rubio?"

Ok

Oh, it would be a combination of things, like If they said that they admired Scotland's Socialized Medicine system, and suggested we should try it here, and called women "pigs," and wallowed around on the floor on TV with his tongue hanging out, and constantly bragged about himself and constantly bashed everyone with passive-aggressive incoherent idiocy like "Candidate X is horrible, really horrible, but he's ok, but he's rotten, but decent, ---but awful." And it turned out that he professed great admiration for Hillary and recently gave her money, but then excused himself by claiming he had to do it to get still richer, otherwise he would have fewer golf courses and casinos. And if he had been through 4 bankruptcies because manipulating the law to your own benefit is the definition of morality, (apparently all things legal are wise and good and admirable). And said he never asked God for forgiveness (while at the same time claiming to be a Christian, -->Hint: you can't be a christian unless you've repented of your sin, he apparently did all of the talking and none of the listening in his Sunday School class), and if the candidate went to rallies and bellowed "thuh BUYY-Bull, the Baaauuyyh-bull, Billeeee Gah-RAH-hum" in a bid to get Baptists like me to kiss his buns. And if it took the candidate until after age sixty to figure out the Dems were wrong, and if he supported the government seizing private property in order to give it to crony capitalists, (Yes, Keough)---that's about 1/3 of the list and there's more, but I'm tired and need a nap.

One---in July he told "Morning Joe" that he's a Democrat on "some" things. That in itself should be enough to take him out of the running for every conservative, considering how much we rightfully complain about RINOs.

Conservative ideas don't belong to republicans alone, it's a set of principles, beliefs and goals. I'm not going to throw out a possible good president because he only agrees with me 85% of the time instead of 100. Hell, I'd vote for a conservative democrat that agreed with me 85% of the time, if I could find one. Instead, you'll hold out for a guy that agree with you 100% and get only 2 votes, yours and theirs. Isn't Scarborough a RINO anyway though? Why are you watching his show if he doesn't agree with you 100%?

I'm supposed to disdain liberal/moderate Republicans, yet support a man who admits he's at least partially a Democrat at heart? Never happening.

So do you have issues you disagree with Trump on, or are you basing it all on what he calls himself instead of what his actual positions are?

Two---Terry McAuliffe, one of the lowest bottom-feeding, scumsucking, filthy, corrupt liberals of all time currently sits in my governor's mansion. Donald Trump contributed $25,000 to help put him there. Only a liberal Democrat would have done that.

Agreed McAuliffe is a liberal democrat and the rest, and you are certainly entitle to deny support to Trump based on that alone. But for the rest of us, who and what Trump was in the past aren't as important as the positions he's taking now. His immigration and tax reform are enough in my book to overcome these, and if he changes after the election, well that's what most of politicians do anyway("Read my lips, no new taxes" "I'll have the most ethical administration in history", etc.). However, if we elect a bunch of like minded people who agree with most of our positions to congress, it's lot harder for him to renege on these promises later--but that will be really hard to do if all of them have to agree with you 100% on everything.

So according to you the child in the picture below is a natural born citizen eligible to stand for election to our highest office.

Like Ted Cruz, she has an American mom.

Well stated. He is the only one with an administrative policy plan and it is spelled out-”Make America Great Again.” The things he is discussing will achieve that.

Trump’s supporters fall into two basic groups - the rational ones (who I respect), and the cultists. Sadly, you have run head on into the cultists. :(

We are at the tripping point in this country and I believe that Millions of People see this and are willing to take a chance on Donald Trump. Can he really do any worse than what we have had? I think the real answer is no.

Trump ,for all that he is, speaks a truth that all of us are thinking. So we are going to support Trump all the way, regardless.

True...If Trump doesn't win it will be no different than if Hillary wins...We have absolutely nothing to lose by supporting Trump and every thing to gain...Which anti-American globalist do these Trump haters support???

Additionally, Trump is either dishonest, or politically myopic re: blaming Bush for the 2008 economic meltdown. He fails (or refuses) to even acknowledge the Democrats' role in that meltdown,

Trump is not running against any Democrats other then the GOPe (at the moment)...

I don't trust him. Aside from his intellectual dishonesty,

I'm sure you'll be quick to point to the details...

he has a hot temper and a nasty, petty disposition when crossed

That's what Hillary and Jeb say too...'That tone of voice is unbearable'...

LMAO!

You too can know the facts of redistricting in ANY state, even one you’ve never been to! It’s public information.

No, I accuse you of not addressing the sourced facts and quotes I posted. So far, you have offered N-O-T-H-I-N-G, except insults.

Gee, I thought I addressed you quite appropriately, given your demeanor and comportment. And really, how do you effectively interact with someone who insists the FACT that leaves on trees wiggling during windy days PROVES wind is caused by trees?

Furthermore, like any other good shill, you've PRETENDED I didn't answer you, then gone all Farrakhan because you've been treated so unfairly.

If you had a problem with my answer, you should have refuted it, not pretend it didn't exist.

Yeah, the old purity argument was used to try and shame people into voting for McCain and for Romney, too. Well, go ahead and jump off that cliff again, but I’m not going with you.

There is no candidate that will ever agree with us 100%, and you are well aware of it, even as you drag out that well-worn strawman. I’m not looking for perfect because it doesn’t exist. But I’m not going with a self-described Democrat whose history and past are liberal.

Am I basing it all on what Trump calls himself? Re-read the first sentence of my post.

Yes, I know. You and others are willing to ignore Trump’s liberal history, even the almost weekly verbal slips he makes which reveal the Democrat beneath, because his talk makes you feel good. If we’ve reached the point of not caring about a candidate’s history, then we’ll never vet any of them again, because nothing matters except the line they feed you on the campaign trail.

This is nothing short of amazing to me. Amazing, and very disturbing.
