ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist will once again try to revive his political career as a Democrat, with an announcement Tuesday that he will run for Congress after losing his last two statewide elections.
"We have a problem in Washington, there's no question about it. Washington does not listen to the people. Unfortunately Washington bickers with itself," Crist told about 40 supporters who gathered in Crist's hometown of St. Petersburg on Tuesday morning.
Crist was once considered a rising star in the Republican Party. He served as Florida governor from 2007 until 2011 and was mentioned as a possible vice presidential pick in 2008. Many believed he had an eye on eventually running for president.

You beat me to it - the suggestion he run for dog catcher. Namely, he’d waste a lot less of his supporter’s money when he lost the dog catchers race.

As a Floridian, I can't let any Charlie Crist-related thread go by without expressing my heartfelt opinion that this man is the most unprincipled political chameleon who has ever walked the face of this earth.
Charlie Crist will say or do absolutely anything in an effort to get elected to any office. He has no core values, and no intrinsic value whatsoever. He is absolutely worthless. He is the epitome of everything that is wrong with modern politics.
All Floridians despise Charlie Crist with a passion that will never die; indeed, our dislike for Charlie Crist only waxes stronger with each passing election cycle. The only way he ever gets elected to any office is by having "paid his dues" politically. I simply can't emphasize strongly enough what a transparent fool this human being is.
I pray to the God of Heaven that this man is never elected to any office ever again, because, whatever it might be, Charlie Crist would be a waste of space.
Politicians don't come any more phony than Charlie Crist, and that's saying something...
Christ was instrumental in getting McCain nominated-—along with linda Graham. What a Pukehead. Once Florida and SC primaries were over, the other candidates all dropped out.

What is with FL - first Alan West is gerrymandered out of his seat and Jolly. And with a Republican legislature. I know, it’s the FL Supreme Court and they’re all dirt bag Democrats; but the legislature had to put a plan forward.

Crist is a guy who can’t survive capitalism as a worker or entrepreneur so he desperately wants a government job.
Basically, he is a parasite.
In 2010 the voters passed a “fair redistricting” amendment that limited the ability of the legislature to draw a good map.
And now the dem courts have say the map they did pass for 2012 wasn’t “fair” enough to pass muster with the amendment so they tossed it out and are imposing a worse map. It’s not the legislature’s fault, West or any of it. We’ve living in a judicial thugocracy. Crist appointed some of the judges. This is flat out ARMED ROBBERY.
