Inside a sleek Denver condominium, George W. Bush let a hundred donors to his brothers campaign in on a secret. Of all the rival Republican candidates, there is one who gets under the former presidents skin, who he views as perhaps Jeb Bushs most serious rival for the partys nomination.
It isnt Donald Trump, whose withering insults have sought to make Jeb pay a political price for his brothers presidency. It also isnt Marco Rubio, Jebs former understudy who now poses a serious threat to his establishment support.
Its George W. Bushs former employee Ted Cruz.
I just dont like the guy, Bush said Sunday night, according to conversations with more than half a dozen donors who attended the event.
One donor in the room said the former president had been offering mostly anodyne accounts of how the Bush family network views the current campaign and charming off-the-cuff jokes, until he launched into Cruz.
I was like, Holy shit, did he just say that? the donor said. I remember looking around and seeing that other people were also looking around surprised.
The tenor of what he said about the other candidates was really pretty pleasant, another donor said. Until he got to Cruz.
Bush took a harsh view of Cruzs apparent alliance with Trump, who stood with the senator at a Capitol Hill rally last month in opposition to the Iran deal. While Trump, the current GOP poll leaders, has attacked most of his competitors in the 2016 field, he has avoided criticizing Cruz.
One donor, paraphrasing the former presidents comment in response to a broad question about how he viewed the primary race and the other Republican candidates, said: He said he found it opportunistic that Cruz was sucking up to Trump

Well, if I had to pick sides, I’ll take Ted’s.
Your kind had their time, W. You pretty much failed.
Quite a dilemma for the old Bushbots.
But he has no problem criticizing a Republican.
BTW all of the crap the Left has spewed about GWB over the past eight years and who does he get mad at?
Just another RINO.
Bush never had a bad word to say about Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi or Hillary Clinton. But he hates Ted Cruz. I’m so tired of the uniparty phonies.
I can’t imagine Cruz expects much support from the establishment types.
[I just dont like the guy, Bush said Sunday night]
Can’t Jeb fight his own battles?
W is butt hurt because Jeb has no chance in Texas. It will be Cruz or Trump.

“He said he found it opportunistic that Cruz was sucking up to Trump”
I would rather have Cruz suck up to Trump than suck up to the Clintons as both Bush brothers do. I find it downright sickening the way that both Bushes suck up to the Clintons.
As if i didn’t love Ted Cruz enough already, now I love him even more!!!!
Thanks W you RINO sellout POS!
If the GOP elite had spent as much time trying to shut obaba down as they have Trump and Cruz we’d be living in a better country than we have.
He’s just pissed because Cruz and Trump don’t play nice with Obama and RINOs like his wuss brother...
GWBush was never that critical of the Dems.
That says more about GWBush than about Cruz. But, what would one expect from ole BJ’s bro?
¡Yeb! isn’t the smart one and neither is W, is it Neil?

...
I can’t think of a better endorsement.
Meanwhile Obama’s destruction of America continues, and not one of the establishment puke, cocktail sipping and hors de voures eating POS Republican hacks and their donors will stand up to him.
The acorn didn’t fall far from the oak. W’s daddy didn’t much care for Reagan either.
