Rand Paul to Newsmax: 'Polarizing' Trump 'Worst Nominee We Could Possibly Think Of'

Front-running GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump would end up "the largest loser of any candidate ever in the history of the country" if he were the party's standard-bearer in 2016, Sen. Rand Paul tells Newsmax TV.

In a no-holds-barred interview with "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner to air Monday night at 9 p.m. ET, the Kentucky Republican – running well behind Trump in national polls and struggling with fundraising – says the brash billionaire's "attitude" is "so polarizing" that if he were the Republican presidential nominee, "we'd get just swamped in a landslide."

You sure about that, Rand?

Trump’s leading Hillary all over the place.

Maybe Randy boy just perhaps you should examine why you’re so waaaaaaaaay down in the polls perhaps of your own doing? Is the big, bad Trump wolf got you tied up in the basement and you can’t get out? Try climbing out with some common sense conservative efforts.

Trump is imperfect and different, I will grant anyone that. But, he will actually enforce our immigration laws as is not ashamed to say so. He understands and knows how to win negotiations, he’s a proven success, and also worth mentioning is he exudes optimism and sincerity. Yes, he has a big ego but, that’s any President.

Plus, he’s not a typical wonkish politician giving us ‘focus group’ answers while using unnatural and obviously per-practiced gestures.

In short-Donal Trump is an actual person. That’s his appeal.

The polarization of the ruling class and Mericans is well established. Trump has taken sides against the ruling class.

I lean libertarian and prefer Paul’s positions on many issues. But Rand’s reaction to being so low in the polls seems to be desperate exaggerations to gain attention.

Rand and The Donald are really quite similar. Each would lose a major part of the Republican vote in the general election. But they would also gain a cross-over of Democrats. Trump would be the ultimate Banana Republic President and the total opposite of a libertarian president.

The ‘curls’ are fake and look like a squirrel is nesting on Rand’s head.
My concern about him extends to the fact that he is a nutcase’s son...and we all know the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Amazing how the losers with 1% in the polls like Jindal and and Randy, or the dropouts like Perry and Walker, all lash out and, in the words of “Frankie Goes to Hollywood,” “Rage Hard” against Trump and insist he “can’t win.”

Re: Rand Paul. I thought he'd be the one speaking about the mess the Federal Reserve has made of the economy and the financial system (no one is), about fighting wars that are counter-productive and even fighting for the wrong side, about state and individual rights. Instead, he chose to be a nice guy and coexist with Mitch McConnell. Since doing that, he's lost his way.

I thought he had promise. Instead he showed himself to be a person without core Constitutional values.

JMHO

I don’t vote for amnesty candidates.

Rationalize all you want but if you vote for amnesty, you will get it.

Perhaps Kentucky should elect a Tea Party candidate instead of Rand Paul?

The truth hurts - Rand Paul is not very reliable.

The voters need someone they can count on.
