I lean libertarian and prefer Paul’s positions on many issues. But Rand’s reaction to being so low in the polls seems to be desperate exaggerations to gain attention.
Rand and The Donald are really quite similar. Each would lose a major part of the Republican vote in the general election. But they would also gain a cross-over of Democrats. Trump would be the ultimate Banana Republic President and the total opposite of a libertarian president.
What major part of the republican base would Trump lose in a general election? Any republican that would stay home instead of voting for Trump or any one running as a republican would rather have Hillary Clinton as president. Can’t see that happening again.
