Thursday could mark the beginning of the end for Bobby Jindals increasingly slim presidential hopes.
The Louisiana governors campaign reported having just $260,000 to spend at the end of September after raising a little over half a million dollars and spending significantly more than that in the third quarter. Its a paltry sum compared to his rivals, and if Jindal cant jumpstart his White House bid soon, he could be headed the way of Rick Perry and Scott Walker, who ended their campaigns when their coffers ran dry.
Jindals haulor lack thereofwas the most ominous signal that came from the quarterly FEC filing deadline on Thursday, which showed that the top two Democrats, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, each raised more money between June and September than any of the 15 Republicans still in the race. (Donald Trump, of course, has access to more money than any of them through his own personal wealth.) Clinton raised $28 million and Sanders raised $26 million. Ben Carsons rise to a close second in the polls was reflected in his fund-raising, as he led the GOP field by taking in $20 million in the third quarter.

My family knew someone for a long time. He ran for Senator as a Democrat. My Mother supported him, “because he was such a nice guy.” Two years later, my Mom’s friend, his wife found out on TV that they has mutually” agreed to separate. This person went on to be involved in one lowlife scandal after another. I tried to warn her I didn’t trust someone who could afford to retire, but decided to become a Senator. If someone really want to hold one of these offices bad enough, they probably aren’t a good person.
It won’t matter who the speaker is because eventually they all get hooked on Koch.
He's even better for the GOPe than Jeb is.You're right he is but neither you or them are bright enough to know how.
Help me out here, what does he have to do with Quickie mart or a5 and dime.
Jindal seems to be one of the good guys, hope he can hang in there. I would rather see huck, kasick, paul, and gilmore go out first.
An interesting proposal. I sincerely doubt that House Republicans are capable of such out-of-the-box thinking.
If Rand Paul did drop out would anyone really notice?
He hasn’t dropped out yet?
Jindal is now nearing the end of Lame Duck status. I was in Louisiana, mostly Jefferson Parish last week and saw many political posters and one was David Vitter for Governor.
As for Speaker, too wedded to the establishment for me. I really liked the idea of the ex-Seal Team Six Commander Rep. Ryan Zinke mulling the possibility.
BTW Mam, Hoorah! 31S & 32D. 71-76 (Tehran 72-74)
Trump has a lock on the Deep South. He resonates with them.
Willie appeared with Trump somewhere but some say he endorsed Jindal but a closer reading appears that conflating with endorsement to supporting his decision to getting into the race.
Essentially, the “Family” as a whole has not exclusively endorsed anybody to this point but instead voiced support for any conservative they could vote for. I think Phil has been the most visible supporting Jindal, but then again, Jindal did give some sort of official award to the family as featured on one episode of their show.
The only family members to have officially endorsed Jindal are Jep and his wife. But all of this talk was when he first announced he was running. We know much has changed since then for a large swath of people?

Slow Joe’s 7-Eleven quip
Facing criticism, potential 2008 presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden has been forced to explain his recent remark that “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”

It is possible to hold two positions at once.
I agree....good guy but not his time.
President-elect Trump will probably have a meeting of his onetime opponents (the Pubbies that is) and all will be well.

You have it exact.
Pity ... draconian budget cutting is precisely what EVERY government in these United States needs, at every level. Fedzilla needs to be reduced by more than 50%.
Not the way Jindal is doing it. 100% here, 2% there. He hasn’t been consistent or rational in budget cuts.
There are reasons conservatives are running against his record and the condition of the state. His name is pretty evenly cursed by the entire political spectrum. Louisiana liberals never did like him and now very few conservatives do either.
If you want him for your state you might try writing him a nice letter. He might want the change of scenery, and we’re certainly willing to share.
“Im sure hell get some cushy job running a university or a think tank or something.”
Agreed. The Peter Principle is at work, and I think he feels vastly too important for Louisiana anymore. I expect him to disappear into the Beltway hive. That would probably be best for everyone.
