Hmmm. Considering Columbus landed on Hispanola...... Anyway, I've decided to call it DIP day henceforth. Destroy Indigenous Peoples Day. So, I'm also pretty sure that all of the 'guilt' associated with being the conqueror has all those guilty folks packing their bags and booking passage back to wherever their ancestors came from. Oh, and turning all of their ill gotten gains on the backs of the redskins over to the local tribes. Of course a lot of them will maintain that their great great grandma was 1/75th Cherokee or something.

Would that be the day that celebrates people and cultures who settled and occupied this land from Asia before Columbus?

I was trying to find a virgin to offer to the Demi God Ooga Bama. I couldn’t find a virgin, then I found out that Ooga Bama was gay. Man, what a wasted day.

Yep... notice most of them state “Cherokee?” We don’t hear “Pamunkey” or “Mattaponi.” The names of those tribes are cool-sounding enough.

I celebrated by buying a used copy of Samuel Eliot Morison’s biography of Columbus: “Admiral of the Ocean Sea”.

Columbus Day is one holiday that needs to be reformatted. He never actually landed in America, and honestly had no idea where he was when he was in the area.
He had absolutely nothing to do with the United States.

Being the first immigrant does not make one indigenous.

No we didn’t celebrate the holiday that some leftists celebrate for the butchering, cannibals some call indigenous people.
We had spaghetti, meatballs and lots of Tuscan red wine!
Ciao!
Hurrah for Christopher Columbus.

This is something that Ive struggled with for a long time, Sarah Adams-Cornell told the station last month. The fact that our country, our state and our city celebrate this holiday around this man who murdered and enslaved and raped indigenous people and decimated an entire population. And to top it off, we went and named our federal district after him.

what is the definition of ‘indigenous’ anyways? Does it mean people who found the continent, lived there for awhile, then brutally murdered others who also found the land and wanted to live there too? Because that’s exactly what the Indians did- the white man wasn’t the first to ‘steal land’ as the liberals like ot call it- they weren’t the first to go to war with people to gain land- They weren’t the first to fight to retain what they had gained-
Sick of hearing how brutal the white man was when the Indians and heck, all cultures were when expanding outward to other lands- indigenous? Even Adam and eve were guests in the garden of eden- they weren’t natives- they were planted there- just like EVERY ‘invading’ group thereafter
