It appears this poor woman’s jogging route took her to the wrong side of the Bell Curve.
I would not attribute this to a racial issue. Johnson has had mental issues and does unpredictable things. The article seems to indicate that he was arrested when he called 911.

Reckon the race war has begun. Remember, only one side has to declare it. Situational awareness, a 100 ft. perimeter. No black person is your friend...and if they get you it’s your own craven stupidity. I deplore racism and bigotry... but one has to deal with it regardless of whichever side of it you’re on. I’d never willfully harm a black person, but I no longer trust them, and for the time being I’ll regard them all as a mortal threat unless they prove otherwise. Walked into a men’s room in a McD’s on the south side of town a few weeks ago. A big guy was standing in there. He was hispanic, so I didn’t think much of it. If he’d been black, I’d have gone back out the door. The line between acceptable risk and non-acceptable risk.
The guy that got hacked was jogging. The girl was in her car, on the way to the nearby Mormon church. Cops aren’t saying how she was killed.

Be armed (and skilled with them), be sober and aware of what’s around you...and never again kid yourself about the nature of your fellow “citizens.”
One of those urban jogging/biking trail violent crime themeparks. Surprising a killer looking for someone to murder would choose a wooded urban area with a streaming supply of ready-made victims.

Thomas Johnson is schizophrenic. A talented athlete, he played about half a season for A&M before disappearing and then dropping out of school. He has been seriously mentally ill for years.
If he had used a gun today, we’d be hearing calls again for tighter gun control.

From what I’ve been told, when having an “episode”(like off his meds), he considered himself a character out of a 1970s movie. This isn’t the only time he’s acted out, but may be the first time he’s killed.
He, like the shooters in almost all of the mass killings of recent years, have in common untreated illness. When is our society going to realize that the mental health “reforms” of the 1960s-70s made it almost impossible to keep homicidal maniacs off the street?
