Oregon has been blue since 1988. Lets hope this is a sign of change coming.
From what I understand Oregon outside Portland and Eugene is about as GOP as they come. Like in many states two different worlds between urban/rural divide.
In southern Oregon, land of farmers and lumberjacks, far, far away from Portland...

Hey Eric, Oregon is like California, Washington and a lot of other states where the $hit in the cities have the political power that overrrides those of us who are still decent citizens. So you’re in “the Ozarks?” Try running down to a major city in your state and take a look around! I used to work in Memphis thirty years ago. It was a $hit hole then, and it’s gone downhill. If you think somehow you’re immune, you need the get out more.
In Oregon, there is Portland, and there is the rest of the state.
Portland/Multnomah County is the tail that wags the dog.
Like Milwaukee/Madison is the tail that wags the rest of Wisconsin.
I am an Oregonian and most of Oregon isn’t actually that liberal. Eastern Oregon is very conservative. However, most of the population in Oregon lives in the Willamette Valley. Portland is at the North end of the valley and it is extremely liberal and has a huge population in relation to the rest of the state. Salem (the state capital) and its surrounding county (Marion County) actually lean ever so slightly conservative. Eugene is towards the southern end of the Willamette Valley and is a university town (U of O) and a major liberal stronghold in the southern Willamette Valley. South of Eugene, Oregon gets very rural and strongly libertarian (though not entirely conservative). In the Roseburg area there is actually is a large survivalist community. So, I am not surprised that President Obama’s gun control agenda is not welcome down there.

Outside of Portland and Eugene Oregon is pretty conservative. Open Carry and CC must issue, not even Texas has that. They did cram through some more background check crap this year but no one has or will be able to enforce it.
