Rep. Charlie Dent Calls For "Bipartisan Coalition" To Select New Speaker(Out of touch RINO)
real clear politics ^ | 10/8/15

Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy stunned House colleagues when he announced that he would withdraw from the race to be the next House Speaker. In the immediate aftermath, Rep. Charlie Dent says "anything is possible now."

To get anything done "we might have to assemble a bipartisan coalition, that’s the reality of this place," Dent told CNN moments after McCarthy withdrew from the race.

REP. CHARLIE DENT: The next Speaker should not appease those who make unreasonable demands. There are a number of members of our conference. You cannot get the yes on anything. For them the end will be the good.

In my view it's come time to marginalize those members who doesn't want to be part of the governing majority.

I've said for some time that in order to pass anything out of the House we need to assemble a bipartisan coalition whether it's on the continuing resolution, the debt ceiling, we will have to assemble a bipartisan coalition. That's the reality of this place and I don't think that any of our leaders should make accommodations to those who are going to make unreasonable demands...

I don't know what will happen. Anything is possible now. It's pretty clear to me that a number of us are not going to simply appease or exceed to those who will make unreasonable demands. And so I suspect in order to govern around here we need a bipartisan coalition on all major bills.

The GOPe seems determined to rip their party apart and join their coalition to the Democratic Party in order to destroy conservatism and avoid those restrictions in the constitution. Spend too much time in DC and you morph into a progressive.

Non-stop idiocy from the RINOs

Why do you say it is idiocy?

He's just "tellin' it like it T-I-S".

There is a very substantial fraction of the Republican caucus that would vote for Pelosi before they would vote for a conservative. That is a fact.

They will do this because they agree with Pelosi more than they do with conservatives. That is also a fact.

It is not "idiocy" to support people for leadership positions who you agree with. It's normal, it's business as usual.

What's "idiocy" is to expect anything different from this House Republican caucus.

I put Pelosi's chances at 50-50. I put Steny Hoyer's chances at 60-40.

The Republican Party is finished as a significant political force. Give it up, so we can move on to something better.

When RINOs became the majority of the Republican Party, they no longer are RINOs. The party is FAR from what the platform stands for.

I would ask some questions of the potential Speakers that are real easy to understand for them and for Americans:

1. Do you think if Obama issues Executive Orders to ban guns as he has already announced he will do, that is constitutional?

2. If not, will you immediately initiate impeachment proceedings against him if he so enacts these orders?

I promise to do my part to keep him in his position as long as possible.

Wish I could clone him.

We need our Speakers to come from the good ole conservative South

The problem is that you don't have the votes to elect a conservative speaker. There are only 150 votes for that, MAX.

By driving out Boehner and McCarthy, the House conservative minority MAY have forced a GOPe-Democrat coalition to elect the next Speaker.

I think exposing the truth of things is always good, so I'm not critical of what they did - but fourteen months of Pelosi will be hard to take.

That should be mandatory. But we have to overcome the leftists among us that torpedo that type of thing every chance they get with their no matter what lesser evil pragmatic crap.

Look at the fiasco here during the last two elections. If we, the supposed furthest right of the right cannot get our own crap together and stand united, it’s not likely we can get candidates to stand with us. It’s really that basic. First things first. Shut the leftists here down.

“The problem is that you don’t have the votes to elect a conservative speaker. There are only 150 votes for that, MAX.”

So you believe that the current RINOe will vote for Pelosi for Speaker over a conservative?

really?

I have no doubt of it.

The conservatives are angry. But the GOPe is angry, too.

I believe that if one more GOPe speaker wannabe goes down, Pelosi or (more likely) Hoyer will be the next Speaker.

Agreed.
Just penned Congressman Dent an email.
In short—we didn’t sent you there to be friends. Represent those who sent you there, namely conservative south central pa residents. Stand up for conservative principles of fear losing members of the Republican party.
After seeing more than a few of Charlie’s positions in the last year, I think it’s time to see a conservative challenger to him emerge.
He’s a RINO, and I’ve had enough of him.
