I’m thinking McCarthy really is having an affair with Renee Ellmers, and they threatened to use it against him.

McCarthy's demise comes hard on the heels of Boehner bowing out of the speakership as a sort of human sacrifice to the tea party right.

The Compost seems to look at TEA as some kind of living dead.

Nute brilliant on Hannity, he would be very aggressive if the new speaker. Picking fights that unite the GOP and divide the Democrats. He would wage a war on Obama and make him realize the limits of the Presidency.

He would take on the GOP senate to do their jobs.

He says that government shutdown would not deter him, it was shut down twice when he was Speaker and they got reelected for the first time in 60 years.

Hannity begged him to run. Nute said he would help advise the GOP caucus, but would only talk taking the job if he had the 218 votes to become speaker.

This is what we are looking for a Speaker that defunds what the voters don’t want, and has lots of good ideas.

Nute would use the power of the purse to JUST SAY NO TO MCCONNELL AND OBAMA

He would wage Holy War against Obama

I want Newt! Also, am I the only one that thinks that all of this is happening because of Donald Trump?

“The end result will be 400 Democrats and 38 Tea Party”

Then perhaps the Tea Party people should ease up just a bit on their “All or Nothing” / “off with their heads!” approach to governance.

I am probably alone (or damn close to it) on FR with this view, but I do not think political anarchy is a good thing.

Freedom Caucus needs to send Boehner a nice note saying... You quit... you’re gone. Leave now or else.....

GOPe / RINOs: Can you hear us now? The Cruz Conservative revolution is underway. Cantor, Boehner and McCarthy’s scalps are on the wall. Shall we have an actual conservative leadership for the Republican Party or just more 110% funding of 0bama’s priorities?

That’s what we have now.

So, no change then.

I dunno. I think the GOPe loves this. This gives Boner the excuse to stay as Speaker in perpetuity.

It looks like Boehner will stay if the GOPe can’t get their candidate. So says Brett Bair.

I wonder if Tom McClintock is wishing he could take back resigning from the House Freedom Caucus two weeks ago.

Nute said he would want the GOP presidential candidates to help push back.

Nute said the voters won’t vote for the GOP next time if they can’t prove their word can be trusted.

This is partly true. It had more to do with McCarthy’s gaffe, which even the GOPe couldn’t stomach. They want a turd with polish.

“human sacrifice to the tea party right.”

The little drama queen from the Washington Post is in full form.

In the battle for Speaker, just remember Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) is a GOPe RINO.
