Rep. Steve King (R-IA), the chairman of the Houses Conservative Opportunity Society, endorsed Rep. Daniel Webster (R-FL) for Speaker of the House on Wednesday evening.
King wrote in an email to his House GOP colleagues, obtained by Breitbart News, on Wednesday evening:
I have listened carefully to each of the candidates for Speaker in multiple forums and watched each of them closely over the years. I have concluded it was the right thing for me to nominate Daniel Webster for Speaker last January and its the right thing to support him again for Speaker. I believe he will bring a principled, member-driven approach and transform the culture of the House. Daniel has a proven track record as Speaker of the Florida House and an excellent record opposing amnesty. He is strongly pro-life, pro-marriage and pro Constitution. I hope you will join me in support of Dan for Speaker. Dont forget he has an excellent political name.

The Devil you say...
Daniel Webster’s a good choice...
Don’t know much about him, won’t hold coming from Florida against him. Definitely anyone is better than Boehner, Chaffetz, and McCarthy.
HEAR! HEAR!
PLUS, he has a mighty fine name too!!!
I heard him on Hannity. Total sellout loser
My take on him is that he’s another middle of the roader.
They’re running three flags up the pole, and frankly, I have no interest in saluting any of them.
Boehner was a symptom, not the disease. And so, to be quite blunt, my expectations from all of this falderal over who will be the next Speaker are quite low. One way or another, it’s going to be business as usual. That is, unless and until we truly clean House.
