Please help this poll to support open carry. For those of you not familiar with Florida law, concealed carry holders are guilty of a misdemeanor if their gun is exposed. This law will ensure that concealed carry holders are no longer prosecuted for accidentally exposing their weapon.

Here in Maine, we’ve had Open Carry for a long time, no permit necessary.

Starting this month here in Maine, we have Constitutional Carry.

It’s legal to carry a concealed firearm on your person or in your vehicle, no permit needed.

If you get pulled over by a police officer, you’re supposed to tell the officer / deputy / state trooper that you have a firearm in your vehicle.

Open carry will become a public relations nightmare for the right and its adoption should be perceived as a sabotage mole operation that will fortify the gun grabbers zeal and promote a regime of cultural warlordism.

I don’t know why we can’t have a weapon anywhere we go, across state borders or where ever....

Donald Trump wants a national conceal carry permit.

Another reason to vote for him.

Trump knows just what to do and how...hehehe...the others don’t know except what their ‘handlers’ are telling them, and they are so out of what the people want....

I do know that if I’m the bad guy and I’m in a room full of human targets the first person I’m going to shoot is the guy stupid enough to show me that he has a holstered gun.

Perhaps, but...

If there were a dozen people in the room open carrying, perhaps the perp would simply move along. Conversely, if there were a dozen concealed carry people in the room, the bad guy might think that no one is armed and commence.

If you believe in the 2nd amendment, you would support Constitutional carry, which leaves it up the each individual regarding how, when and where to carry.

Why open carry when you can carry concealed?

Tell the bad guy who to shoot first?

Because such laws protect you against charges of 'brandishing' or other such nonsense for inadvertent exposure of a weapon. Personally, I prefer Vermont Carry, but if you're going to have permits, they should cover both open and concealed carry.

Encountering a person with a gun and seeing that the gun is not inherently dangerious could help change some attitudes.

I think people would have a tendency to be more polite.

Trump is right. This isn’t a ‘states rights’ issue. 2A is a power reserved by the feds allowing people to bear arms. States shouldn’t have a say in it. Get a CCP in one state, it should be good in all states, and PR, and Guam.

Plenty of data on violent crime in societies with open carry laws. Aside from Pali on Jewish violence, violent crime in Israel is almost non-existent.

Walk onto a bus, and someone is carrying their rifle to a drill event, or something of that nature.

...concealed carry holders are guilty of a misdemeanor if their gun is exposed.

Actually, the 2011 law was supposed to take care of that problem. However, certain LEO's, DA's, judges, etc., have ignored the law and have prosecuted folks. This bill would put a stop to that.

I stand corrected. I meant to say it isn’t a right that the states can infringe upon.

OC does not protect the person, it makes him a target.

No. It doesn't. Or there'd be a lot more dead cops. The fact it's a relative rarity proves this out.

Hope your intimidation factor works for you.

It worked for Reagan to win the Cold War.

Sun Tsu, the Vikings, and several other successful philosophies worked from a vantage point of projecting strength rather than portraying weakness. Ask Obama how that whole "weakness" thing is working for us...
