The Texas senator may look like an also-ran, but hes a legit contender.
Wheres Ted Cruz? The outspoken Texas senator has been unusually quiet in recent weeks. But in GOP circles, theres soft but growing chatter that he is likely to be one of the last men standing in one of the most chaotic and unpredictable presidential races in recent memory.
You wouldnt know it from his poll numbers. Cruz is running at about 6 percent nationally and in key states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. Thats well behind outsiders Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson, and those numbers accord with the attitude that many influential Republicans have taken toward him since his arrival in Washington three years ago: Theres no way he can win the nomination. Hes too conservative and doctrinaire, and his abrasiveness doesnt help the cause.
Given his poll numbers and his solid but unremarkable debate performances, the press has mostly ignored him. The result is that the Texas senator may be the most undercovered serious candidate in the race and the most underestimated. But he shouldnt be dismissed. This is the man, after all, who, according to one of his allies, began meeting with Iowa activists to plot his path to victory in the state in August of 2013, just nine months after he was elected to the Senate. Is it possible that hell sneak up on the Republican establishment again, just as he did in his 2012 Senate race?
Within Republican circles, attitudes about his viability have begun to change.

He’d make a great “unbiased” attorney general.
While I have enjoyed Trump’s thrashing of the Establishment (GOP and otherwise)I am a Cruz man and always will be.
Hey, Eliana, ask Mitch McConnell if he thinks Ted Cruz was "unusually quiet" on September 28, 2015 .....

Trump/Cruz—WHATTA TICKET!!!
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
” Hed make a great unbiased attorney general.”
And an even better Supreme Court Justice.
My thoughts exactly.
Trump also met with Sessions
Trump/ Sessions.....that’s the ticket
Trump and Sessions have two BIG ideas they are pushing...
Illegal immigration....and stop the trade bill
Spoken like a true GOPe wuss. They must have interviewed McConnell for that quote. It is actually hard to believe being "abrasive" isn't looked upon as a favorable trait for a politician.
Cruz is a real deal. He was largely ignored in the debates and seems the media does their best to not cover him. But he is the most presidential of all candidates.
I'm afraid we may see a retiree or two very soon so Obama can load the court.
This may not be his year to win the presidency but his star is only just beginning to shine.
