Dilbert Creator Scott Adams on Donald Trump's "Linguistic Kill Shots"
Reason Magazine ^ | October 6, 2015 | Justin Monticello & Zach Weissmueller

Posted on 10/06/2015 3:46:24 PM PDT by EveningStar

Donald Trump has a way with words—and with people. Yet despite his popularity, he has been a mystery to the media, which have mostly derided his campaign as consisting of nothing more than random insults and ignorant bluster.

Scott Adams, prolific author, blogger, and creator of the massively popular comic strip Dilbert, has a different theory. He tells Reason TV's Zach Weissmueller that the media are being trolled by a skilled manipulator, or in Adams's parlance, a Master Wizard. So exquisite does Adams believe Trump's skills to be that he predicts The Donald will go on to win the presidency.

Scott Adams knows a pointy-haired boss when he sees one.

I worked for a company that made integrated valves for the Trident missiles.

Please don’t use the word “masses” when referring to people. It is a revolting communist word.

"can he use that talent to go over the heads of a recalcitrant obstructing congress (regardless of whether it’s Dem or GOP) to get stuff done."

Of course he can, to both.

The question that nobody knows the answer to is: What will be done?

“if elected, can he use that talent to go over the heads of a recalcitrant obstructing congress (regardless of whether it’s Dem or GOP) to get stuff done.”

I think he could and would. Imagine him cutting out a Pelosi, Reid, Boehner or McCarthy or McConnell and bearing down on them being obstructive and dimwitted. He would not allow them to hide in the herd. He would pull them out and verbally dismember them in the ways the interview covers.

This could easily be abused, and become an evil. But it would be effective, and move the pusillanimous herd animals of Congress right along the chute. Some of them definitely should go to slaughter.

>>You were a submariner? I wrote a book on the Trident program. SSBNs or SSNs?

One of each. I was on the Lafayette (SSBN-616) and the Scamp (SSN-588).

It is intellectually lazy to dismiss him as an “entertainer”.
agreed everyone i know read that book. and it was great read. an entertainer would have built plastic houses for a movie set. I think he has built a lot more than that.

What happens when the tables get turned on him? Trump’s not exactly a hard figure to lampoon.
Go ahead. Knock yourself out.

"It is intellectually lazy to dismiss him as an “entertainer”.

Please show me where I am intellectually lazy, or where in my statement I dismiss him. Regan was also an entertainer and won by a landslide.

Wow. Well, I wrote the history of the Ohio and the Trident program, simply called “Trident.”

It could indeed be abused. I am less concerned he will win than I am WHEn he wins and has success it creates a guy named Benito.

Too coincidental. You can see our book, “Tridenr.” Out of print now, of course.

The primary weapon of the left, since they can’t make an intellectual argument (there’s no intellectual grounds for their positions and their appeal to their 2 audiences are “free stuff!” for one part, and “We should rule everyone” for the other), is ridicule.

Trump has shown himself to be impervious to it, even turning it around (I’m rubber, you’re glue).

And the left are apoplectic. What a wonderful sight, whether you support Trump or not.
