He was incredibly good. Gave specifics, was strong, was presidential.
And what energy!
I will post a video when it hits youtube.
I’ll assume that most Redevelopment Projects are Local rather than Federal Government decisions.
As President, what would Trump do any differently regarding Redevelopment than every other Republican Candidate currently running?
Is this the new issue of the day?
Obama’s Gun Control ideas, no problem.
Syria and ISIS, no problem.
Hillary Clinton becoming POTUS, no problem.
The Military being decimated by Obama, no problem.
Gutless Republicans running Congress, no problem.
The Economy, no problem.
Trump the Real Estate Developer likes Redevelopment, BIG PROBLEM. Did he make the KELO Decision and nobody told us?
Pardon my confusion, but what difference does it make?
There will ALWAYS be some loony tunes who do not live in reality. Even if they are offered 5 times what their property is worth, they will stubbornly refuse to sell.
But it all depends on the reason for eminent domain execution. If it is for a highway, hospital, airport, or a big mall, then it is one thing. If it is just because the neighbor wants a bigger yard, then it is another thing. Any court should decide. That is why spend Billions on courts.
Chickenhawks like Stephen Hayes will be happy to support foreign military adventures, when no imminent danger to United States is involved, with more borrowed money, and adding to the already obscene national debt.
I always wonder if they operate in similar manner in their private finances.
Excellent points.
I have no issue with anyone who supports a given candidate or not. I'd like to see Trump and Cruz do well, and I had great hopes for Walker until he dropped out.
However, you flatter yourself by your criticisms of others. You also employ the straw man. You have no way of knowing to what degree I or anyone else has employed critical thinking in regards to Trump. You have no way of knowing what I (or anyone else) views as the most pressing issues. You could not unless you'd discussed the framework for deciding with any Freeper, and I've seen no evidence of such.
You've shown no recognition that any candidate is a compromise, and no recognition that no one will accomplish our laundry list. We can hope for three or four big things, and anything else is golden.
Others who speak as you do point out Trump is no textbook conservative, and if I support him I mistakenly think he is. Horse biscuits.
Ted Cruz is not a textbook conservative; Walker was no textbook conservative. There is no textbook conservative in the race. The only person I would agree with 100% is me, and I'm not interested in running. Ronald Reagan wasn't a textbook conservative.
I've compiled my own list of what a president needs to be successful; IOW, how likely they are to accomplish what I want to see. It includes the ability to go around the establishment and the media, not persuade them.
Trump has that in spades. Check in the yes column. Some criticize Cruz because he doesn't play well with others, Rand Paul for example. Again, a successful president doesn't have to get along with the establishment or the media, so that's no great loss.
I've seen a willingness in Ted Cruz to go around the media and the establishment. He's not shown he can successfully do so.
Since no candidate is perfect, it comes down to weighing pluses and minuses. It come down to deciding, not who is the perfect candidate, but who is the best candidate for the times. It comes down to weighing the most immediate and pressing needs, and which candidate is most likely to accomplish them. It's not as simple as checking boxes; it's also a matter of judging the man.
All this whining about Kelo...I believe it was wrongly decided, but it is decided. Any fixes will have to come from the legislative branches. By definition, he can't make it any worse, so quitcherbitchin.
So you have no way of knowing if someone is unwilling to take a critical view of a candidate. They may have already done so and weighed and judged. They may view your questioning as insipid and simplistic, echoing the criticisms we've heard from the media and the establishment...and various site trolls we can all name.
Perhaps it is you who should be more thoughtful?
He talked about it as if it were a math equation - one lone “holdout” dispatched here equals x many created jobs there.
Insightful post.
Thank you for it. ‘Pod.
The Bible says to pray for our leaders.
I’ll admit it’s not a habit with me either.
Why not do both?
SOMETIMES a rifle is better than a shotgun.
And most of that must have been the expense of taking his private plane and helicopter to the Iowas State Fair, renting a farm for landing and giving free rides to the kids on the chopper.
And it is a tax write-off!
That was a tour de force. I am also wondering if anyone will answer your previous question: i.e.: has anyone in the legislature even attempted.to head off future Kelos. Suddenly it’s the only issue worth talking about, but where have our most principled conservatives been on fixing the problem in the many years since it happened?
You better look in the mirror, Sparky. You're the one pushing a liberal and defending his love for eminent domain.
I support a solid Constitutional conservative. If you see "shame" in that, I suggest a thorough self-examination so you can fix your problem.
Of course the left will go after Cruz. He, however, knows how to handle them. He isn't a thin-skinned narcissist who will engage in Twitter flame wars and take everything personally. He will skewer them, return the focus to the issues and to the Constitution, and move on.
I'll have nothing to do with your cult of personality.
LMAO
I'll refer you to an exhaustive list of Trump's conservative stances:
I just can't stop giggling...
LOL!
Wow, Steve Hayes thanks you St Cathy for your help in getting Jeb elected. A pompous ass is always a big plus.
Sparky? LOL I am so upset St Cathy. Queen of the 6%. TPA Corker bill CC. Wow!
Bye now.
LOL!
I knew it would take only a couple more posts for you to descend into juvenile, emotional ad hominem. You never disappoint.
I understand that facts are an uncomfortable thing for you; they force you to face things you’d rather not. So go ahead and run away.
Coming from the most pathetic depositor of GOPe helping BS, that is a compliment.
Enough St Cathy, you brought out your colors days ago.
Bye now, unless you want to argue with you. Probably be a good idea though.
Ted Cruz is GOPe?
Please explain how you came to that conclusion.
