The video was even more heartbreaking than most coming out of Syria.

Posted on the mirror.uk newspaper web site, it claims to show a young fighter leaving on his final, suicidal mission against the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in the town of Fua, Syria. There is no date on the video, but Fua has been the scene of intense fighting for the past few months.

He climbs into a Soviet-era armored personnel carrier, probably captured from government forces, which the news story describes as “packed with explosives.” Men are all around him, offering encouragement, taking video with their phones, embracing him.

Then, with his head sticking out of the hatch of the vehicle, the young man — one could easily call him a boy — starts to cry.

He tells his comrades he is only afraid about not succeeding in blowing up his target.

It’s not hard to imagine the real reason. He’s about to die and he knows it. The encouragement and approval all around him tell him that there’s no way out other than this — that there’s no turning back. He’s terrified, but this is what will gain him status and acceptance among his peers.

Only he won’t be among them anymore. He will be gone, blown into a million pieces. Lost to the Earth. But he will belong. He will mean something.

This is his best option.

The boy-man in this video should be learning a trade. Or helping people. Or assisting his parents. Playing (or arguing) with siblings. Walking the dog. Trying to get girls to kiss him. Studying his textbooks. Figuring out a computer algorithm. Or at least getting into the family car, instead of into a rolling incinerator

All those things above are worldly endeavors.

Possibly a true assessment on your part. However, do not overlook the fact that by this death they show strong belief in their “religion”, something most Christians do not do; i.e. worship of the wrongdoer,pity for the justly punished criminal, abortion with its murder of babies, marrying Sodomites, greed for money, etc. etc.

Reminds me of the HEINOUS act of Japan, sending its 18- and 19-year-old men to deliberately hit U.S. ships: kamikaze, the "divine wind."

Nothing divine about suicide...and of their brave, heroic, patriotic young men. What they deserved was divine retribution for that. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were wake up calls, that is, WE had the "bigger stick," thanks to Dr. Wernher Magnus Maximilian, Freiherr von Braun (March 23, 1912 – June 16, 1977). He was the German (and later American) aerospace engineer and space architect was credited with inventing the V-2 Rocket and the Saturn V, for Nazi Germany and the United States, respectively.

He was, as we all know, one of the leading figures in the development of rocket technology in Nazi Germany, where he was a member of the Nazi Party and the SS.

Imagine, getting help from one of the Devil's minions to kill ANOTHER minion of the Devil.

Having living the KSA for five years, I can't say that.

I discovered going to daily Mass over there. They DO have men of the cloth over there but they call them "special teachers," since priests, reverends and vicars (We had one vicar who toured all the camps since we only had SIX Anglicans on our camp) are not allowed in the KSA.

I went to daily Mass in our little Ras Tanura community. Mass was held in the camp clubhouse and the priest was simply a "special teacher" who celebrated daily Mass at 9:00 A.M. daily. I still go to daily Mass today, after acquiring the habit in Saudi Arabia and thanks to my Muslim boss who said that I "could pray anytime" I wanted to.

God really, really, really works in mysterious ways.
