In a conversation with Business Insider promoting his new book, presidential candidate Ben Carson suggested creating a national database to keep "dangerous individuals" from accessing guns. In the aftermath of the mass shooting in Roseburg, Oregon, Carson wants to stop unstable people from slipping through state systems which are under no federal mandate to share information.

I guess reading the article is too much work. Lets just emotionally react to the headline instead like the rest of the people on this thread.
Wow, what an intelligent comment.
My mistake. Sorry for trying to interjection reason into an irrational emotional response to a thread headline.
I think you’re giving yourself way too much credit in thinking you’re smarter than a houseplant.
They’ll all be sitting on the Group W bench.
You forgot the obligatory “radical right wing extremist” part in front of ‘gun-rights organizations’. LOL! How come nobody is ever radical left wing exremists?
Anyone applying to purchase a handgun...
Great plan, doctor!
NEXT!
Be careful, MNporta-johnnie will whipe out his feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings and post the line from the article, all the while being ignorant of reality, so he can try to foist his loser candidate on everyone some more while bashing everyone else with his severe case of projection.
Bad idea. Anyone who owns a gun will eventually be part of that database. Carson is a bit too naive to be president.
I know I’ve seen, and you probably have too, some folks who I, or you, may think should never be allowed around a firearm. But, that ain’t my call as long as they are citizens. More training required.
For an intelligent man, Ben Carson is frighteningly naive.
National gun registry.
He seems to have a tendency to come up with a "solution" without regard to unintended consequences. It also shows perhaps a lack of cultural awareness. The movie "Minority Report" years ago was the cautionary tale about the danger of getting into thought crime territory.
“Uh, wrong. Who makes the determination?”
Concur. It would be immediately abused by liberals.
Kind of a pre-crime determination to deprive someone of their Constitutional rights. Very Soviet.
So Carson actually believes in the liberal all powerful govt. Just completely exposed who he really is. Bye Ben.
...and down he goes again. He just needs to stay off this subject.
That would include everyone.
Carson is where he is in the pols because he is black and makes some quasi conservative sounding noises. Proposals like this simply show that he is a closet statist, much like Zero.
Have the "potentials" call a hot line or fill out a postcard?? That'll work.
Chicago has had more deaths the year by single shooters than all the mass murders in the US in the last ten years.
