Mika: Why Not a Gun Ban Like in Australia?

They really are coming for your guns . . . After the Charleston church shootings, President Obama praised Australia's draconian gun laws, which included a mandatory buy-back program, AKA confiscation.
On today's Morning Joe, Mika wondered "why" we couldn't institute a similar gun ban in the United States, throwing in support for a database of all gun ownership for good measure. Joe Scarborough was actually obliged to explain to Mika that her gun ban was never going to happen because we have the Second Amendment here. That left Mika grimacing in regret [see the screengrab].

According to the AIC, there are approximately 2.75 million registered firearms in Australia and approximately 730,000 licensed owners.

There wont be a lot of folks that want to volunteer for the door to door confiscation after a couple of ambushes occur. And they will.
It will be done through the IRS, i.e. taxation. You can keep your weapons but must pay a tax on them. Failure to pay the tax will be VERY costly.
There will also be visits from the EPA because the ammunition consist of known toxins (lead). If you have been buying ammunition beyond a "reasonable" level, i.e. more than 1 box per month, you will need to submit to regular, unannounced toxic material inspections.
There will be no large scale confiscation but there WILL be a death by a thousand cuts.

I think the one main reason for not passing an all out gun ban is keeping the nation whole.
Just to say, Obozo came out today with a press conference stating that he has passed an executive order banning the private ownership of firearms.
All out civil disobedience would begin, making millions outlaws by the stroke of a pen.
When confiscation begins, revolution would break out. Hundreds if not thousands would be killed on both sides. Gun owners in America will not allow themselves to be disarmed...ain't gonna happen.
For argument sake, if the gubbamint ever did move in this direction, it will be the single biggest mistake they will ever make.
Just an observation, not advocating.

and when we become outlaws, we don’t have to register our guns. The Supreme Court has already decided this...Violation of our Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination!

That's right Mika because we are not Australia and the people will fight for the second Amendment because it protects us from people like you and Obama. She can always return to Russia they have gun control there.
