HONOLULU, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An undisclosed number of F-22 Raptors of the Hawaii Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force have been deployed to the Middle East for as long as six months.
The Hawaii Air National Guard, or HIANG, said the deployment of most of the fighters and more than 200 personnel from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu took place Sept. 26 but was kept secret for security considerations.
The aircraft and personnel are now in an unidentified location in the region, which is in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command.
"Because of security considerations and host nation sensitivities, the HIANG will not release the base nor country where the Raptors are operating from, nor will the HIANG release the number of F-22 fighters that are deployed," it said.

To protect ISIS from Russians bombers. We have completely changes sides since 911 we are now allied with the terrorists that attacked us. Jan 2017 can’t come soon enough.
News flash, the cold war is over, we won. Russian is a natural ally of an American Republic. Once we restore the American Republic lots of things will change for the better.
Yup, Saudi Arabia, petrodollar, are very important to the criminal globalists trying to force a New World Order on us. Pay attention to who supports a No Fly Zone over Syria. Those that do are globalists. Someone should make a list.
You sound like Barack Obama-the 1980s called they want their fioreign policy back. But here we are imposing harsh economic sanctions on Russia and threatening open warfare against them and waging asymetrical fourth generation/proxy warfare against them iall because Putin is waging war to grow Russian influence in ways that threaten Western capitalist interests. Seems like the only people that think the cold war is over is us. me excluded of course.
The 80's called, they want their foreign policy back.

Putin is a problem but at some point he will be gone. The greatest threat the West (Russia included) faces is Islam. Islam has been at war with the west for 1200 years and has been mostly winning. Right now Islam is massing its’ forces for a major offensive to take out western Europe. Unless Western Europe fights the invasion currently occurring Western Europe will be in the hands of Islamics’ in 20, 30 years. Also remember France has lots of nukes. The UK has quite a few too. Islam armed with nukes is a far greater threat to the USA then Russia.
So when do you leave to go kill some Russians? It’s easy to command shit around in front of your PC
first of all, I did my 8 years and I have my two honorable discharges. I’ have done my duty, unremsrkable as it was. Secondly, I have not suggested open warfare with Russia. I simply offer my unbiased perspective of how and what and why things sre shaping up. My only intent is to vigorously defend these ideas in order to glean a bit of truth. That’s always my motivation.
In other words, a simple zero sum game where one national society (and their allies) defeats another in order to enjoy the spoils of economic control.
In order for the mass of liberal freaks in the USA to continue their respite in la-la land, the reserve currency must preserved at all cost. The fact that some don't understand this dynamic shouldn't cause despair, but rather pleasure in the information advantage.
So, yes, losing Syria will be recorded as a major strategic loss for the USA. We've got to somehow defeat the Russians in a limited battle of technology, otherwise the next target is a Shia led insurgency in SA.
If we can't limit a conflict with Russia, or we cannot defeat them in a technological contest, then it's lights out for the USA. No petro-dollar, no printing; no printing, no social spending; no social spending, Katie bar the door.
I agree that Russia is a threat and I’m no putinista like some of the people on here. However Syria and any muslim to me in not worth even in single american life. Strategically we are not locked with the Middle East any more for oil with North American reserves and fracking. With Obama as leader fighting Russians in Syria will be a disaster. Check the Russians and Chinese on the big stuff this however is not it.
No more welfare. No more warfare. Lots of unhappy people. Guaranteed dictatorship. It’s an EOWAWKI scenario and, as such, it ought to be thoughtfully considered.
The physical oil is only part of the equation. The mandatory exchange of US dollars for that oil is the other part. I would argue that it is a bigger part. We don’t need the oil as you stated but, for the padt 40 years, our entire way of life has risen up around the artificial demand for our dollars. All the welfare, the warfare, the medicare, the social security, the interest payments, all of it is supported by an artificial demand for our dollars. Were that demand to go away, so would everything that it supports. It would be Weimer Republic time. Putin has flatly stated his opposition to the petro dollar and his intent to undermine and he is actively doing just that. whether he is allowed to continue or not remains to be seen. My guess is, immmense pressure is about to be applied to Vlad.
This could get out of hand. But I didn’t really need to say that.
Dear Child, Chinese gold production/imports have nothing to do with Syria.
Syria.
The USA has no vital interests in Syria.
We aren’t talking about Israel or even Saudi Arabia.
Syria.
We have 187 Raptors available for service.
And the Hawaiian National Guard has a squadron of them?
No offense to the Hawaiian National Guard. But Damn!
The Pacific is a huge area to cover.
And none reside in Syria. Except dong the bidding of the Saudis.
There's no danger in dollars being repatriated.
We should be more concerned with people accepting Treasury's as legitimate debt instruments.
And, that is spread worldwide. Not just oil countries.
