Great photos, thanks for posting. Just goes to show you what communism can do to a beautiful country. Obama has the same plans for America.

This would have more impact if there were before-and-after photos. I've seen several episodes of Cuban Chrome and the infrastructure is a wreck and they complain about shortages all the time. Yet, they seem fairly content in their situation.

I moved this thread to the “Cuba” topic, as opposed to the “miscellaneous” field that you prefer.

Everything has changed - except the cars.

They are probably driving the same cars today that are in these photos.

I seriously doubt they are content - it’s just that they don’t want to see the inside of a Cuban prison by complaining.

Thanks much. My husband’s grandparents lived, and had a business there before “the revolution”. They basically left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and missed a lot of things from their lives there, but were ever thankful to have gotten out : /

I’ve heard that 50s era car enthusiasts are planning trips to Cuba as things open up.

But I think they may be disappointed, as the old Cuban cars are not exactly in good condition.

The Lykes Brothers had two awesome ranches

Today they are nothing but a 12,000 acres of weeds.

Hmm. Sad to say but it appears to apply here.

Don't know, as I've never seen anything but pictures taken from a distance.

I think the appeal will be scavenging parts for non-popular models.

The Chinese have tooled up and sell nearly every part number on the popular stuff like old Camaros and Mustangs.
