Forget the 26-year-old zero who murdered 10 innocents at Umpqua Community College on Thursday morning.
The Chris to remember is 30-year-old Chris Mintz, the student and Army vet who was shot at least five times while charging straight at the gunman in an effort to save others.
Mintz did so on the sixth birthday of his son, Tyrik.
“I will not give him the credit he probably sought,” Hanlin said of the killer. “You will never hear me use his name.”The coroner will be obliged to issue an official identification, and news organizations will be obliged to report it.
But if you hear it, forget that Chris in that very instant.
Think of Chris Mintz, who was shot while rushing a killer on his son’s sixth birthday.
Forget the zero and remember the hero.
Also remember those two brave cops and the others who showed uncommon courage.

Shooter was half black, just like the president.
But that moron in the (formerly) White House did not even mention this hero. No, his gun grabbing BS agenda was too precious.

Their was a guy in uniform talking about the training he gives to schools (Seattle area). I forget exactly but it was run/hide/shelter if you are away from the shooter. Not just the old duck and cover. (Sitting Duck?) Then he showed once in shelter (a locked room away from the shooting), be prepared to assault the guy with an object. Good place to hide is low and next to the door - the bad guy will be looking farther into the room upon entering it.
He said he trains the teachers and kids that if the shooter is in your room - grab whatever is handy, but you ALL have to rush him as soon as he shows up. And that they need to PRACTICE doing it.
If they hadn't, people like President Obama wouldn't be able to use Australia as the example he wants to. But this is another example people should be shown.

Pepper spray is a good thing. Not fatal; but it gets your
attention diverted.
Why does the left, the MSM, and the authotities want to shift attention away from the shooter?
The trend seems to be that, if someone intervenes, it’s a male. I find that unusual since college campuses are now majority female. Somebody must be discriminating against them.
OTOH, the shooters are also overwhelmingly male.
Haven’t seen a pic of his mother but saw an interview pic with father. He is white.
By the way, where does Mercer come into this? His dad is Ian Harper.

Pepper spray (stream) is very effective, quickly disables, and has MUCH less paperwork afterwards. Even if the perp has a gun, the stream is good for 20 feet without wind, and really ruins his aim. Ask me how I know.

BTW - one of the heroes from the French train attack is not only from Roseburg, he was scheduled to be attending UCC during the shooting.

He flew up to Roseburg after the shooting. He said he should have been in school so he could have helped.
You have to experience it if you want to be Law Enforcement.
