Russia launches more Syria strikes as 'Iran and Hizbollah prepare ground operation' - live updates

Russian jets bomb rebel positions in Syria including rural areas near the north-western town of Jisr al-Shughour, a day after launching air strikes. Follow latest developments here

Russia's defence ministry releases footage of four more air strikes in Syria. The ministry posted footage on its official YouTube page that it says shows night air strikes by Russian aviation on four Isil sites in Syrian territory.

The ministry said on its YouTube page militant infrastructure in Hama as well as near Idlib was destroyed by the air strikes.

14.10 Erdogan: Turkey will not allow 'fait accompli situations' next to borders

Turkey has been fairly quiet since Russian launched its air strikes. In yesterday's UN General Assembly speech, Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu did not bring up the strikes, only stressing the need for a safe zone (which Turkey has long argued for).

Rebel commander helped by CIA confirms being hit

Meanwhile, the commander of a rebel group that has been given military training by the CIA in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, confirmed that a training camp they run was hit.

Hassan Haj Ali, head of the Liwa Suqour al-Jabal rebel group, said the camp in Idlib province was struck by around 20 missiles in two separate sorties.

"It's back, it's back," says one person off-camera as the roar of a jet is heard overhead.

"The shape of the explosion is very different from the one that would result from bombing by the Assad forces," says Abdallah. Behind him, the camera captures a multi-headed plume of smoke rolling above the landscape.

McGruff is a serious Putinista. He’ll love to see Russia take over the Middle East, as well as retake Eastern Europe. He’ll be in the street cheering Russian troops on, waving a little red flag and blowing them kisses.

Yep. And probably will celebrate when Russia’s ally and BFF Iran takes another American hostage.

So the louder McGruff cheers the more likely Russia will take over the world and win? Like in wrestling when Hulk Hogan was taking a beating and the crowds cheers pump him up and he rises and beats Andre the Giant? You should work for the Pentagon with such thinking!

We like it that Russia will take out ISIS. But we don’t like some of his allies. Just like here at home. We don’t like Obama’s allies...the republicans.

I never thought I’d see the day that I, a conservative, would vote for a McCain or a Romney. But I did it.

I wonder what the real meaning of Barry the Muslim's whisper to the old Russian PM “ i will be more flexible after the election “ was really all about ?

No one is the incompetent.
The Middle East in turmoil and Isis and Russia on the rise appears to be what our traitor in the Slime house plotted all along.

! His advisor or Co President is Iranian born V Jarett whose father was a Communist.

Sounds like the Russians are neutralizing the small-fry opposition to Assad as practice before going after bigger game.

...Obama would just drop trou and surrender so that's not entering into my calculations..."

Who's to say the Manchurian Candidate hasn't already surrendered?

President Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

President Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

***”John McCain, the US senator, said today that he could “absolutely confirm” that Russian air strikes had hit Free Syrian Army rebels who had been armed and trained by the US, writes David Lawler in Washington.
“Their initial strikes were against the individuals and groups that have been funded and trained by our CIA in an incredible flaunting of any kind of co-operation or effort to conceal what Putin’s first priority is, and that is of course to prop up Bashar al-Assad,” Mr McCain told CNN.”***

***’U.S. General Lloyd Austin, the head of the U.S. military’s Central Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that at the current, slower-than-expected pace, the initial training targets were unrealistic.

Asked how many fighters were still in Syria, Austin said: “It’s a small number. The ones that are in the fight ... we’re talking four or five.”***

Somebody’s lying.

I don’t know, someone posted it on Facebook, I do have Russian friends on it so it might have been one of them, I’ll ask. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that is how Russians view Obama.

I’m not questioning Russians’ view of Obama.
I just wondered if it actually appeared in Russian newspaper or if was just kind of an amateur cartoonist posted on a blog or something.
