A local mom is going viral over a big decision to give her teenager hormones to transition into a female. The video is being shared millions of times on Facebook tonight and now Erica Maison is talking about her decision.
Anticipation and excitement was on display as the 14-year-old New Baltimore girl opened a hidden box from her mother. It wasn't jewelry or concert tickets.
"Do you know what that is?" Erica asked, as Corey smiles and moves toward mom for a tearful hug.
Corey's mom surprised her with her first dose of hormones, something the transgendered teen has waited to get for three years. Erica wanted to capture the emotional moment.

"I just started crying," Erica says.
"I opened it, I read the top and it said 'estrogen, Corey says. “I stopped and froze for a second. I was so happy I started crying."
"It was such a relief," Erica says. "It had been so many years waiting."
It hasn't been easy for Corey who was born a boy and feels she spent the first decade of her life living in someone else's body. The signs started young.
"My second birthday I got a truck, my sister got a Barbie doll and I wanted nothing to do with the truck," Corey remembers.
"[Corey would] dress up in my heels and dresses," Erica says. "All little boys do that, that is a phase usually. As Corey gets to be 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years old, it didn't stop."
Look on the bright side - this could eliminate the need for sex selection abortions. Have a boy but wanted a girl? Just change your boy to a girl.
A small child will put on whatever shoes are lying around. My 3-year-old doesn’t care if the shoes are mine or a boy’s. Not being insane, I don’t say, “Ooh, she’s really a boy!” when I see her in a brother’s shoes. I say, “Come get your filthy shoes away from Kathleen - she’s making a mess on the sofa.”
Growing up not once did I know of a girl who thought she was a boy in the wrong body or vice versa. Why now? What has changed? Chemicals in food? Water? Communist plot? Why this avalanche of mentally ill children and parents?
Only a sick society would promulgate such a practice.

Fatherlessness is killing America.
I really believe the vast majority of people know this is wrong, being that woman encouraging her kid to be a homo. But as a society we have been conditioned to just look the other way.
As recent as 30 years ago such a situation would have been brought to the attention of a mental health professional by the mother, and certainly not celebrated by the mother or promoted by the media.
The nation as a whole is just sick in the head.
Geeze. What a twisted mixed up world we live in (Lola..). But to the point, this kid’s “transmogrification” is coveted by their insurance. Yet, if I want a tetanus shot, being over 65, I have to pay for it out of my pocket. What BS!

If Jackie Evancho is the girl with the beautiful voice of an adult opera singer, I can say I am not surprised that the parents would support the brother’s perversion.
Harsh? I knew the parents were not right when they allowed the girl to be used by the perverts who produce”Dancing with the Stars”. There was this beautiful child singing a sacred song as two professional dancers appeared to engage in foreplay on the dance floor.
Aren’t hormones prescription meds? Isn’t the mom violating Federal law here?
Read the autobiography of recently deceased Avengers star Patrick Macnee. His dad left them when he was very young and his mother decided to become a lesbian. She moved in with a very butch lover (in Depression-era England!) and tried her darndest to convert young Patrick into a girl.
How that man ever turned out to be an apparently normal human being is amazing.
Correction. Mother needs to be jailed for child abuse and child endangerment. Doctor needs his license revoked for malpractice. Teen needs his head examined. More likely, his butt whipped for being an attention whore.
I think many of these parents are pathological attention-seekers. If “trans” wasn’t the fashion, they would manipulate their children in some other way.
And to what degree is that behavior a mimicry of the sister? My son would try to play like his older sister, being a Daddy in the house feeding the baby and trying on the same dress up clothes she did, until moving to to blocks and trucks.
And to what degree is it doing what Mommy approves of? This mother may have a bias against boy activities, and the kid is now going into crazy mode to get approval.
AKA, the ultimate war on boys - wussified isn’t enough, he has to BECOME a girl to be accepted.
You can’t get a tattoo or tan without a doctor’s note at 18, but you can decide to have life altering chemicals and surgery before you are allowed to drive.
