Russia gave Israel advance notice of its impending air strikes in Syria on Wednesday, western defense sources said.
For the first time, Russia launched air strikes against Islamic State in Syria on Wednesday after President Vladimir Putin secured his parliament's unanimous backing to intervene to prop up the Kremlin's closest Middle East ally.
Israel did not receive any information on where geographically the strikes would occur.

Putin realizes it makes no sense to alienate Israel. Why? its the strongest country in the region. Perhaps Bibi on his recent visit to Moscow even made a deal whereby Russia would control Hezbollah.
Thus, Putin has a coalition of all players in the region (except Saudi Arabia and the USA - but who knows what the loser Obama is thinking) who see Russia as a stabilizing influence.

Exactly, Russia and Israel have some common interests, and Israel will have to decide where her best interests are best served, and those are NOT the interests that Obama, Kerry and Arab "democracy" serve.
The US did get a call, from what I’ve been able to gather. France didn’t though, which made me chuckle.
Russia wanted it’s planes coming back
For all the criticism I hear from people about Russia, they are not sneaky. They say what they mean and therefore everything they have done has been very predictable. Unlike Obama who says one thing and does another and is too sneaky to always predict. You can rely on him to be a radical liberal. Just how radical is the surprise. His words will vary according to the audience he wishes to manipulate. His actions are always radical liberal.
