Many did not,I am sure it`s all on record here.
You may be right, but I didn’t notice that.
“Why would she have lied about this?”
Because she’s from the Bible Belt. She understands that those in her community know the pope is the leader of a cult, and she’d lose the respect she’d gained over the last few weeks. (I and my friends have lost all respect for her.)
If the Pope had met with Kim Davis publicly, the entire rest of his visit to the United States would have been about Kim Davis.
Excellent analysis.
Threatened?
He thanked her for her courage, but he wimped out and was a coward by not damming the US Congress or Obama for America’s millions of murders of the unborn child. Nope, the environment is more important to the good ole pope. Not the unborn. Murdering the unborn is okay. What the old fool should have done is drill Obama and the cowardly Congress for the 60 million murdered.
Because I have too much time on my hands I took a look at a number of threads around Sept 1st through 5th something like that.
Just the few threads I looked at the vast majority did in fact support her, there were a number that kind of had a half way support of her, to the minority that did not support
A number of the actual candidates had it wrong, I just remembered there was some cold response across the “Conservative media” and I had it confused with here, so you were correct for the most part.
That would’ve been much better than how it turned out, IMO.
Thanks, Chauncey.
He encourage them. Isn’t that support?
Guess what? The Pope is Catholic. The MSM is secretly sobbing into their cocktails.
Why the Boy Scouts New Policy Led Bishop Kagan to Cut Ties
Like that?
Other churches have embraced the homosexuals, even marry them.
The Catholic Church has been standing fast against that.
“There is no indication that he supported the little sisters or Kim Davis in his meetings with Obama.”
Your response:
“He encourage them. Isnt that support?”
My point was that he didn't admonish Obama for his treatment of the Little Sisters when the two met in the White house,
And likewise Kim Davis.
Nor did he bring up either one of those people or issues when he had such a good opportunity to stand up to Obama for his approval of the slaughter of millions of pre born humans and his (Obama’s) refusal to help Christians around the world that are being killed by the 10’s of thousands, many of them children (some of whom have been crucified!)
The Bible says many will be anti-Christ. Obama fits that description to a "t"
“This is really curious.
“It seems that the bland speeches could have been a public front while behind the scenes there were attempts to shore up the historical positions of the Catholic Church.
“Im not sure of the strategy. Perhaps its correct. As always, everything gets so nuanced that its virtually impossible to speak definitively.”
I think a post I made on a related thread addresses what you ask here:
Many (not just you so my comment here is not only towards you) have castigated the Holy Father for meeting in secret with Kim Davis and/or the Little Sisters of the Poor. I think however this Pope takes his title/role of Pontifiex seriously (however perhaps applied in a misguided fashion)
Consider Pontifex means greatest bridge builder. This is what Francis seems to want to do above all other concerns (build bridges). One can make the argument that being a pastor may at times mean calling sin out and exposing it. I think though Francis wishes to focus on his role as bridge builder above all else (and again arguably, detrimentally to the exclusion of other pastoral duties)
I think though if one views his actions, both recently in the States and throughout his pontificate, through this lens, some anger and resentment towards his actions (or inactions) may be abated.
Pope Francis shows he is for religious liberty, by meeting with Kim Davis, and having dinner with the Little Sisters of the Poor, who are suing because of the HHS mandate.
Also, this is about one of the Pope’s speeches:
Pope Franciss Religious Freedom Rally at Independence Hall
by Kathryn Jean Lopez September 26, 2015
From the podium that Abraham Lincoln used to deliver his Gettysburg Address, Pope Francis today rallied Americans to defend religious freedom. In this place which is symbolic of the American way, I would like to reflect with you on the right to religious freedom..(snip)
And may you defend these rights, especially your religious freedom, for it has been given to you by God himself. This came days after he visited the Little Sisters of the Poor, who are doing just that in their fight against the Obamacare abortion/contraception/female sterilzation mandate. (snip)
he talked about the good that is religion for a society: Our various religious traditions serve society primarily by the message they proclaim. They call individuals and communities to worship God, the source of all life, liberty and happiness. (snip)

Well good for them. How about a little more assertiveness versus meeting in secret.
