GOP primary contenders Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Lindsey Graham skipped a critical cloture vote that allowed Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnells plan to fund the government, including Planned Parenthood, to move forward without risking a shutdown.
That means Rubio and Graham, for whatever reason, skipped a key vote that would have shown where their allegiances lie regarding funding for the highly controversial abortion provider, which, based on recent undercover video investigations, is in the business of selling aborted baby body parts to the highest bidder. ........
Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, on the other hand, were present and voted no. Cruz did so with extraordinary criticisms of GOP leadership, including McConnell.
Notice how much energy Majority Leader McConnell devotes to attacking conservatives? Notice how much energy Speaker Boehner devotes to attacking conservatives? Cruz said on the Senate floor on Monday evening in a scathing speech about leadership, in which he accused McConnell and Boehner of cutting a deal with the Democratsabout the worst possible thing they could have done.

Rubio hiding.
“Present”
kinda
Rubio will now be touting he’s #1!!!
Huffpo source.
No can do.
You got that right!
I think they should use that absentee rate as the % decrease in their senate pay.
I know, I know, they more than make up that difference w/ their insider trading crappola.
Its no wonder the leftwing media is so keen to pretend this guy doesn’t exist.
“Marco the Rube” once again shows his true colors.
Whaddya think-—will this really bite Lil’ Marco?
Cruz: One of the ways you avoid accountability is you somehow are somewhere else doing something really, really important instead of actually showing up to the battle that is waging right here and now.
Is this the start of the revolution?
And then he freaking told us who voted by voice against his motion! That’s not supposed to happen.
“The remaining senators on the Republican side — you had Leader McConnell; you had Whip Cornyn; you had Senator Alexander; you had Senator Cochran — those four senators voted loudly no. Its still a vote, even thought its not a recorded vote. It’s a vote on the Senate floor.”
This is better than watching Texas Longhorn fans whine about bad calls by the refs. Well, almost.
It passed 77-19. That means that 96 voted. 2 of the 4 that didn’t vote were Rubio and Graham. They could argue that their votes would have been meaningless, but in Lindsay Graham’s case, we know he would not have voted to support challenging the president.
Now Rubio has caused potential supporters to have to question his intentions. He could have lied on this vote and voted against it and it would have made no difference. It still would have passed 77-20.
It really makes you wonder what message he was sending by being absent.
“Why couldnt the other senators running for president be there?”
“Because not giving taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood is not among the priorities of the lobbyists on K Street, so leadership is not interested in doing it.” Cruz 9.28.2015
Trying to straddle the fence and not offend voters on either side. That would be my guess.
Curz said, and you know it’s true, the real vote on Lynch was cloture. He voted against it.
That makes him stupid. He offended both of us. Straddling the fence is exactly what we’ve told them that we hate.
I can’t believe he’s that stupid. It has to be something else.
All but one are R’s. Interesting.
