During his 60 Minutes interview Sunday, Republican presidential front-runner appeared to come out in favor of a form of single payer health insurance for the uninsured ... and openly called for raising taxes on the wealthy.

Why isn’t this guy running a dim?
Go, Cruz!
I listened and I heard nothing about government takeover of healthcare, with the exception of reimbursement to hospitals who care for the poor. Which is how we used to handle healthcare for the poor (public hospitals supported by the taxpayer).
Agreed. I didn’t hear Trump mention single-payer. I did hear him say that people could buy insurance from many companies on a competitive level.
You want to hear his plan?. It’s a return to the private health care system.
Trump being interviewed by the Chicago tribune. Listen around 55 minute mark.

That’s a very misleading headline.
Exactly. The current GOP front runner is saying that the government (and the President himself) is going to “take care of everybody.” And people are just eating it up.
And what was that Trump said about the Canadian health care system?
Other than flipping off “the establishment” and adding insults to the debate, tell me again why so many on FR love him so much?
Trump has no idea what he wants or what he stands for. It’s difficult having a POTUS who will make things up as he goes along.
You are correct. The headline is BS.
I’m wondering if the fact that Trump is hitting directly at Breitbart funders (hedge fund managers) has anything to do with this pap.
This is NOT the Nolte or Breitbart that Andrew championed.
I just finished reading his tax plan, nowhere in it did he say he was gonna raise taxes on the rich.

You nailed it. Lot of BS going on out here by the same several posters.
How's tgat hopey changey stuff workin' out for yas?
I think what he was saying that for those unable to afford health insurance there would be a safety net, but that will be a very basic coverage. The rest go into the marketplace and get the most they can. That simply is not universal healthcare.
This is your typical dishonest press at work.
Except for the people who are not covered by private plans. Those people, Trump will "take care of," by making deals with hospitals and having the government pay. And make sure that "everybody" is taken care of.
In other words, a massive expansion of Medicaid.
Now that you know his plan, you can choose to support him or not
At least you know what you will be getting
Assuming the other candidates have made their plans equally transparent and easy to understand
Jeb’s got 100 million to spend.
He might have some ‘community activists’ here...
It took 100 years of doing nothing but piling on to already broken 'systems' to get us where we are now. Someone comes along trying to make at least some sense of this horrendous mess and all you can do is whine about how it doesn't conform to your particular orthodoxy.
I guess you can put me on your little list now, Edmund.
Did you notice that he intends to tax the money held overseas at 10% whether or not the money is returned to the US? Since when is the U.S. taxing money earned in another country and that remains in that country a conservative policy? No other major country in the world does that, and that policy is one of the key policies driving the corporate inversions we have seen.
So the Breitbart idiots are in on it now, too?
Trump’s quoted directly right in the article as saying that for most people coverage will come through private plans. The “single payer” they are interpolating out of his comments is nothing other than the Medicaid we already have for the poor.
