The parents of Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old Muslim boy who was detained for bringing his homemade clock to school, have retained legal counsel to sue over religious persecution.
Mohamed, who is the son of a Muslim immigrant from Sudan, was arrested earlier this month after his clock was mistaken for a bomb by a teacher at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas.
The boy was led out of school in handcuffs, sparking outrage on social media and attracting the attention of President Barack Obama, who later invited the boy to the White House.
“We should inspire more kids like you to like science,” the US president tweeted on September 16. “It’s what makes America great.”
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said that “Ahmed's teachers have failed him,” adding that the incident could serve as a "teachable moment" about how "pernicious stereotypes" can affect people's judgment.

If the boy discussed bringing the clock to school with other family members ; it's called CONSPIRACY To COMMITT TERRORISM
THe boy inventor didn't invent anything; he merely remanufactured the clock housing.
He claimed :" It's a clock "
That is incorrect - it is an "Alarm Clock", and the clock and the boy remained anonomous until the alarm went off , after being plugged into an electrical outlet .
It shows willful intent to commit fraud !

If the suit went to jury, no one on the panel would look at the “clock” and not see a bomb. This family needs to go to some country they like; America is not that country.

If there is any discovery. One way the Left prevails is to have friendly settlements. The school district get leaned on by Obama education functionaries, maybe a few words about Federal funds to the district and then the school board votes to settle the case and everything is signed, sealed and delivered without the case ever going to trial.
In my view, it’s been revealing that no one from Irving’s two “Islamic Centers” have publicly supported Ahmed. I about a half mile from the one in Valley Ranch, and it’s been crickets.

Well, I shouldn’t say that. Just because they are suing doesn’t mean they’ll win.
I was handcuffed in NJ, kept in a cell for a half hour, THEN given breathalyzer because they were so sure i was drop dead drunk.
I breathed a 0.00 and they brought me back to my car. I asked my lawyer brother about suing and he said “Are you kidding”?
The only rebuttal to your reasoned opinion is the Mayor of Irving, who’s itching for a fight. Thousands of good Irving residents are really pissed off over the depiction of our city. There’s also a very large Indian contingent that is at odds with Islam.

Be thankful Ahmed didn’t come to school with a Confederate t-shirt. The components construction engineer is a resume enhancer for a job at McDonalds being a burgerbuilder. Will we be able to follow Mohamed’s skyrocketing career on twitter?
