I saw Rubio taking heat for breaking in tears when Franky started talking about immigration. But if you actually listened to the Pope, you’d cry tears of boredom too. That’s stupid. Pope John Paul II was helpful in defeating Communism. Not all Catholics are liberal and not all “Protestants” are conservative. I think she has misspoken. There’s a Catholic signatory on the Declaration of Independence. But if I’m guessing correctly at what she means, she is somewhat truly stating what was a legitimate concern with mass immigration of Catholics in the 1840’s, German and Irish, with most of the concern being about the Irish ones.

Sorry Ann, grandfather came to stay and now we’ve spread like a virus. I’m American of Roman Catholic Italian descent, and out of 41 first cousins two are liberal. 39 are very conservative.
