Speaker John A. Boehner will resign from Congress and give up his House seat at the end of October, according to aides in his office.

Have a great weekend. I’m going to San Diego to fish for some fish.
Enjoy! I shall be here enjoying one of the best days a conservative can have.
PS...see if there’s land available for our statues overlooking Coronado ;)
The conservative Republicans, a few months ago, did a legal maneuver so there would be a vote on the speaker in October. That is why this is happening now - he evidently doesn’t think he has the votes to remain speaker.
Which would show where his loyalties have lied all along.
That being said, why does the GOP caucus have to let him jam anything through? He still has to get them to vote with him, doesn't he?

Ted Cruz quote:
After his speech today, Cruz expressed concern that Mr Boehner may be ending his tenure with one more effort at negotiation with Democrats.
If it is correct that the speaker, before he resigns, has cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund the Obama administration for the rest of its tenure, to fund Obamacare, to fund executive amnesty, to fund Planned Parenthood, to fund implementation of this Iran deal - and then, presumably, to land in a cushy K Street job after joining with the Democrats to implement all of President Obamas priorities, that is not the behaviour one would expect of a Republican speaker of the House, he said.
Boehner....Traitor, regardless.
True, but if Breitbart article is correct...more Boehner damage ahead.

and Fox just said they will carry-—even if Obama presser isn’t over.
Assume Boehner will wait for conclusion of Obama China presser.
Boehner will no doubt be on a roll. He has much of 0bie’s *lame duck* agenda to scurry though, ASAP.
If you watch, keep me posted...on whether Bonehead cries, or not.
My $$ is on YES.
Maybe. On the other hand all the “GOOD Riddance!” articles may have him being all macho and going postal on his ‘oppressors’.
Either way, he’s leaving.
PARTY IN THE USA!

Struck a nerve, tick? I believe it landed. Can’t bone up with the limitations to all congressional investigative committees, huh? Can’t deliver, above the slander level?
LOL! Why not stomp and turn blue.
You drive-by crap slingers are a dime a dozen, ignorant of what you’re talking about. The slander is misplaced.
Gowdy has a fine reputation as a prosecutor, and within the confines of his position as chairman, he knows his case is only as good as the evidence to which he has access. Direct your ire at the cover up system of the State Department, Justice Department and the FBI.
Nancy Pelosi must be beside herself.
Yet the next speaker has more criminality to live down than I believe can be done by any of the gangsters therein.
I’d love to proven wrong. But I’m not hopeful at all.
Notes on Boehner resignation presser:
Much blah, blah...
He did choke up when he said there was a quiet moment with the pope the press didn’t see. Pope grabbed his arm and thanked him for his work on education and kids-— and asked Boehner to pray for him.
Taking questions:
He said there was never a doubt that he could survive a vote, but he didn’t was “his members and the institution” to go through that-— especially since he had long-planned to leave anyway (at the end of his term?).
Says he is going to make the same decisions and votes as he would had he not resigned.
Goal is to find common ground between Dems & Repubs.
Told McCarthy 2 minutes before he told the meeting. Said McCarthy would make excellent speaker.
Told chief of staff and wife yesterday that he was strongly leaning to resign, but didn’t decide for sure til this morning.
I told Kevin, if he is next Speaker, that his number 1 responsibility is to protect the INSTITUTION.
Smattered throughout presser was make Institution stronger, protect Institution, not harm the Institution.
There are what 80 conservatives in the house? The balance of GOPe Republicans and Democrats are more than enough to jam s**t through.
hes going to go make some of that k street money before trump comes to power
The first HUUUUge win for the Trump revolution.
“He said there was never a doubt that he could survive a vote, but he didnt was his members and the institution to go through that- especially since he had long-planned to leave anyway (at the end of his term?).”
I call BS.
WTFlip?? Which “Institution” is Boehner talking about??
What about the CONSTITUTION???
Which freaking institution is he talking about? The DC cabal??
