LOL
Romney got the moderate vote. How'd that work out for him?
We win by getting the conservative voters to turn out, and no matter how much you fantasize about it, Trump can't do that.
Welcome to FR, by the way.
That was Trump's business mode...He was sucking up to ALL the politicians...
Trump is now in Presidential mode...Whole new ballgame...
As an analogy it's like you guys sitting down to lunch with a plate of sharp cheddar cheese and a plate of Limburger cheese...And then in unison shouting we're not going to eat this cheddar cheese...We don't like it...
You don't want Trump so you are going to go for the Limburger...
And you’re a Trump lover who was a Romney supporter in the past.
There’s a surprise.
I think Donald Trump has some good positions. I just question his temperament.
An example is when he was considering running for Governor for New York in 2013. Trump said he would run for Governor IF New York would “unify” behind him and not hold a primary for the candidate for Governor. The State Republican party opted to hold a primary race for governor and Trump dropped out of consideration.
He just like most other candidates - what they have said in the past may not/does not jibe with what they are saying now. Sometimes there are good reasons for that difference - sometimes there’s no good reasons.
I’d like to think he has changed since considering running for Governor of New York in 2013. We shall see once the primary season starts up.
Bye-bye? In your dreams.
Cruz is the only one I have given money to.
So without Trump, how does Cruz beat Jethro?
What are those rules?
Toss conservatism and embrace a liberal because Trump?
Money to Cruz?. You have my apologies then. I am principled conservative. I feel Cruz is also one. Trump on theater hand, may be all over the map during his presidency. Do we really want to take that chance?
For comparison, the political figure--personality wise--who comes closest to Donald Trump, in my mind, was Teddy Roosevelt. My impression is that Teddy had a much friendlier press to deal with; but that was before my time. I am sure that some of the press were not friendly; but again that was before my time.
Now, please, do not attribute everything Teddy did to being as Conservative as I am. He was not; but he, like Trump, was an American patriot.
This is an aspect of the Trump candidacy I find inexplicable.
Romney would have been roasted over an open fire—and rightfully-—for even one or two of Trump’s stated positions, and then discarded as a candidate.
But with Trump, the twisting is endless to excuse, justify, and ultimately give approval.
What most Freepers don’t realize, is that when you take away the immigration issue, Trump’s plank is almost identical to Guliani. We all know how that fared at FR last time.
Did Trump say this or did your average GOPe say this in 2009 about the TARPs
Dems hate Christianity
They love some Gods
You are aware, that Donald Trump told wolf the blitzed in 2007 that Hillary Clinton will be able to negotiate well with the Iranians because “she has always surrounded herself with the best”. In that same interview he stated that seceretary of state Rice was an abject failure. No thank you on Trump.
I’m going to have to give you an F+ on this one. This was in Nov of 2008 right after the crash. Everyone was worried sick about the banks.
Fail. :-)
27-Year-Old Video of Donald Trump Surfaces
I believe he loves the USA and wants to stop what is happening to it. Otherwise, why would he bother himself?
He knows how to game Lefties the way they game us.
Whether we like it or not, politics is a game.
If you want to win the game, you need someone who knows how to win it.
2009? It’s 2015. Might as well be talking about the Eisenhower Administration.
Then Trump comes along. He doesn't care about PC. He is not afraid. He refuses to apologize for saying what he thinks. He won't back down to those corporations who set out to punish him, such as NASCAR, Macy's, PGA and others. He is too wealth and can get away with it while the average person cannot.
Romney was presidential, followed PC, had impeccable manners, had been a governor, and understood the economy. Yet he was mocked and falsely accused by Reid - and he lost.
GOPe has let people down and pushes candidates such as the disgusting Rubio and Jeb. Are you really surprised that many turn to Trump even though he might not be the perfect candidate and has said things that can be criticized? The time has passed for searching for the perfect candidate.
“Now youve come full circle, you are entitled, I do not agree.”
Full circle on what?
....Trump 2009...(Bye Bye Trump)
LOL, again?
