Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina admitted Wednesday she used the H-1b visa program to hire foreign workers while CEO at Hewlett-Packard, but rejected any comparison to Disneys recently reported use of the program to displace American tech workers.
Did we ask American workers to train foreign workers with H-1b visas so that we can pay them less and lay them off? she said on the Howie Carr radio show Wednesday. The answer is most definitely no.
I cant remember exactly it was a long time ago how many [were brought in], she added. But there were some particular jobs where we needed particular sets of skills, where we were growing a particular business.
The H-1b visa program is intended to allow businesses to hire high-skilled foreign workers to fill jobs when they cant find American workers. Most of the Republican presidential candidates, including former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio want to expand the program. Same here. My first computer was a Compaq and I loved it. It did last a long time.
She's peaked.........downhill from here, 24 hours later and she is now going to experiences the media's prying into all her past activity. She got lots of splaining to do.
For all the hysteria of Trump in the presidency, red button and all, how would you like to have Ms. Smarty Pants behaving as a shrew scowling down upon America.
Really friendly to snark out your question, then seize the damn thing back again and answer it with acid.
yup. so are hp’s former worker’s lying about their old boss?
i think not.
Frank Luntz still has it recorded. Lots of his random Trump supporters changed to Secretariat, again.
Pray America is waking
Sort of a Dead Chick bounce?
Time to stop beating a dead horseface.
And in a Country with 300 million people turning out millions of grads every year, this scumbag had to turn her back on the youth of this country and steal their jobs and give them to foreigners. Flady gonna crash and burn.
Was that Christine’s job? Get in there when trump started exposing her failures? What am I thinking? It must be late
I have a Compaq and lasted very long.”
First computer I ever bought for my company in 1985 was a Compaq and we loaded it with a program called Symphony which I loved. We have a couple of things we still do on it. My grandson thinks it’s a hoot to use, particularly compared to his iPad and iPhone capability.
yeah, I suppose. That SURGE has lasted just about as long as my memory, now what was the subject?
Look a squirrel.
Carly did far more than just use the H-1B program .....she promoted it and then some...but I’ll let someone else get the info...I’m too tired tonight to hunt.
O I still have my Compaq and still working just that I need to get a new monitor because the the original monitor went poof lol
I have a cheap Everex brand desktop computer for over 7 years. Knock on wood, not a single problem. But I do clean all the debris it collects around the fans and cooling fins every year.
I know nothing lasts forever but I do know that things don’t last as long as they used to. Really distresses me that the first question you are asked when you pay for any piece of equipment any more is, “Do you want to buy a maintenance agreement for one or two years?”
Have my mom’s Frigidaire refrigerator running in my garage and we use it primarily for beverages and overflow food. Has to be at least 40 years old and has never had a service call.
I believe we need a program to bring in high skilled workers but government should make it prohibitively expensive to do this so that the company is motivated to look within the United States for a person with the skill they need.
H1B was initially designed to overcome the nursing shortage, still in effect, but has grown to cover almost everything. Today its a dirty word due to the Disney syndrome.
Perhaps...just perhaps, it can be used to cover medical employee shortages and also tie it to a guest worker agriculture program...?
It’s called the STEM program and it covers many occupations including teacher, doctors and nurses.
Cruz wants a 500% increase and Carly wants more. These programs have been so abusive to American workers. If they’re so bad, why do they have to train their replacements?
