Nobel panel saw Obama peace prize as ‘mistake,’ new book claims
The Washington Times ^ | September 16, 2015 | Meghan Bartlett

“[We] thought it would strengthen Obama and it didn’t have this effect,” he told the Associated Press in an interview.

The award so early in his term appeared to take the Obama White House by surprise, and Mr. Lundestad said U.S. officials privately asked if a Nobel Prize-winner had ever skipped the awards ceremony.

Normally the Nobel committee’s decision regarding recipients remains private, and Mr. Lundestad’s frank and revealing remarks regarding internal decisions have caused a stir in Norway, detailing the politicking and compromises that have gone into determining the annual laureate.

“Even many of Obama’s supporters thought that the prize was a mistake,” Mr. Lundestad said. In the book, he expressed regret that the decision had been based in a hope for the future rather than recognition of past accomplishments, and that their expectations for Mr. Obama were not fulfilled.

My translation of what Mr Lundestad said;

We, the Noble Prize Committee decided to play politics by awarding the Noble Peace Prize to a politician that had accomplished nothing in hopes he might accomplish something in the future.

Using that criteria there are many thousand people more qualified for the Nobel Peace Prize. Why weren’t they considered?

The Nobel PEACE Prize has been a joke since Jew-Killer Arafart won the Nobel PEACE Prize.

“[We] thought it would strengthen Obama and it didn’t have this effect,”

Everybody gets a trophy... because that will strengthen them into champions.

Uh, no.

He got it for who he was.

Actually, he got it for who they hoped he was; just like the nitwits who voted for "Hope & Change".

Not only is he not who they thought he was (which might be a good thing), he isn't much of anything. He's just a puppet.

And their prize is a joke.

He got it for not being George W. Bush. It was one of several times when the committee used the prize as a way to insult Bush.

The committee had already discredited itself by several of its earlier awards.

I knew it was an affirmation action Nobel from the git-go.

It was Affirmative Action Harvard, Affirmative Action Senator, and Affirmative Action President.

Never before has so much been bestowed on such a feeble childish and less deserving person.

The only job for which he was ever qualified was that time when he worked at Baskin Robbins scooping ice cream.

I read an article where the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC, was proposed for the Nobel Peace Prize based upon their positive, forgiving, and loving response to the murder of 9 of their members.

If they had just waited they could have given him the Nobel Prize for Climate Change research.
