WASHINGTON He may be a brain surgeon, but Dr. Ben Carson cant cut it in the White House, Donald Trump said Sunday.
Ill make great deals for this country. Ben cant do that. Bens a doctor and hes not a deal maker and Ill make great deals for our country, which is very important, Trump said Sunday on CBS Face the Nation.
Deal-making and driving down the national debt is not Carsons natural ability at all, he added.
Ben Carsons a very, very nice man, but this will not be a good situation because of the fact that hes not a dealer, hes not a negotiator and the President has to be.
New CBS/YouGov polling found Carson gaining on Trump in Iowa and is within 4 points of the billionaire: 29 percent to 25 percent.
The former pediatric neurosurgeon brushed off Trumps latest assaults: It doesnt bother me, because I recognize that I have plenty of energy.

Deal-making is another word for compromise, concession, and across the aisle canoodling.
anesthesia counts....... carson will anesthetize the opposition and push his precisely crafted programs through
it is not necessary to deal with opposition that is asleep
Carson also sounds more and more like Yeb on illegal immigrants currently in our country.
It’s absurd that anyone is seriously considering Carson with today’s international situation.
It’s classic conservative sentimentality over substance.
Yes. He’s 20,000 leagues above the current occupant of the White Hut.
Before they entered politics, none of our great presidents was a dealmaker.
George Washington was a soldier; Thomas Jefferson was a slave-owning farmer; Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer; Harry Truman was a haberdashery salesman; and Ronald Reagan was an actor. Yet somehow each managed to achieve greatness once they entered the White House.
So it could very well be for Ben Carson.
As for Donald Trump, it’s easy to become a big real-estate wheeler-dealer if one’s father provides one with a large amount of money and numerous contacts from his own career as a big real-estate wheeler-dealer.
What is there to respect about such a person, especially one who spends much of his time meanly attacking women and minorities?
Each managed to achieve greatness after they entered the White House? Really?
Thomas Jefferson was Governor of Virginia and chosen by Washington to be the first Secretary of State.
Washington was commander in chief of the Continental Army.
Abraham Lincoln was member of the Illinois House of Representatives at the age of 25 and elected to Congress at the age of 37.
Truman was elected to the Senate and served for ten years before becoming Vice-President and then President.
Ronald Reagan was twice elected President of the Screen Actors Guild and twice elected Governor of California.
Ben Carson...
Because all this experience with "deal makers" has served us so well to this point? So that's a bad thing?
Yes. That’s not very fair, is it? T
You want someone that’s willing to compromise and make deals with democrats, vote for Trump you’ll get what you want.
As for me I don’t want someone to compromise and make deals with democrats. I want someone that will throw the dems ideas into the ash heap of history where they belong.
Oh, and those now in office haven’t made deals with Democrats? You have no way of knowing this - it’s pure speculation on your part.
Trump is telling you he is going to be making deals with dems so you might want to believe him.
Being a Neurosurgeon, Dr. Carson is trained in the use of the Vulcan Nerve Pinch.
Oh, let’s see - like the deal Ronald Reagan made with the Dems on amnesty? All the candidates are spewing Dem talking points - so you might want to believe them. - especially on amnesty.
Let me be very plain, Im not going to vote for @RealDonaldTrump, Pataki tweeted Sunday. Hes unfit to be president.
Well, from the looks of things, George, the overwhelming majority of us have the idea that “you’re unfit to be president too.”
as if hospital boards do, given the post I was responding to about DR Carson’s negotiating experience?
Pass along, nothing to see here
Can you imagine Carson going up against Putin? Or China? Or any of the Middle Eastern despots??
Carson reminds me so much of Carter that it makes me shudder.
I don’t want a ‘nice guy’ for president. I want a leader. I want a man who makes me mad, but does the right thing anyway. I want the rabid pit bull fighting in *my* corner.
I do NOT want a “nice” man for president.
My husband’s not a ‘nice’ man. Some think he’s mean. Most think he’s frightening.
But he’s mine. *I* am safer for having a strong protector. *I* am better off for having a doggedly loyal mate. He’s never once threatened me or put me down.
No. He’s not romantic. But he’s not weak. I sleep better with him by my side. He provides and he’s dependable. I’m not getting candy on Valentine’s day and that’s fine. I get meat for the rest of the year and my kids have a fantastic father.
I see ALL of these qualities in Trump.
Carson is weak. Carson thinks too much and tries to understand the ‘nuances’ when we need a leader to get the big picture. I do NOT want another weak leader for my nation.
If you are honest in your goal of understanding the man, then you need to read ‘time to get tough’. It’s all outlined there. Published in 2011 as we were pulling out of Iraq.
If you don’t read it, then you really want to be spoon fed and I don’t know what to do with a person like that.
From a businessman’s point of view, it was a great deal. Things can be made much cheaper in China and Mexico. From the country’s point of view, it was not a great deal. Trump understands that and has stated many times that it’s a big priority of his to make doing business here more attractive. Whether he succeeds or not, who knows?
actually, the country embraced goods that are imported at a much lower price than those made here
the fact is America loves mexican and thai and korean and japanese and chinese things
