Related: I notice that the “bullying” card is being played against Trump with increasing frequency when he utters a critical comment about someone.

The presidency is a pretty “rarified” office.
Only 43 people in 240 years have held the office.

Anyone is going to be OJTing on entry.

Carson would be a terrific Surgeon General.

It may be that Pataki is/was/will be a delegate. Remember, the delegates pick the nominee....not the people.

Hillary already has delegates already committed.

She reminds me of "They Love Me"...."They really love me".

That’s my opinion as well.
I’m not certain, but I’m betting he wouldn’t advocate for teaching masturbation to third graders.

Deal making ability is all well and good and all that. But until I understand Trump’s core values, I am not at all comfortable in assuming what he will give away in exchange for what he wants.

A good president should be able to find a competent wheeler-dealer to whom he delegates much of the task of negotiation and deal-making. Eisenhower had his John Foster Dulles, Harding his Charles Hughes, McKinley his John Hay, Lincoln his William Seward, Washington his John Jay, etc.

BUT! BUT! BUT!

Trump’s a deal maker.

He’ll be making deals with democrats!

Oh wait.

Making deals with democrats is what got use here in the first place.

The last thing we need in the WH is a deal maker.

It was pretty hard to read that. Bottom line....He’s a racist just like Obama and he visited Ferguson in particular to gain the _ _ _ _ _ vote.

He should volunteer at the Veterans hospital. I’m sure there are surgeries where they would appreciate his presence. His job should be “teacher” now. Time to give back!!

“Let me be very plain, I’m not going to vote for @RealDonaldTrump,” Pataki tweeted Sunday. “He’s unfit to be president.”

Well I am now waiting for the RNC to deny Pataki any role in the nomination process, including not inviting Pataki to the happy hour debate.

How much difference is there in negotiating with labor unions and corrupt politicians vs negotiating with the Chinese?

Leaving aside for a moment that labor unions and corrupt politicians don't have nuclear weapons, if you can't see a difference then there's nothing I can say that could possibly change that.

If Trump is so great at “deals”, why is his clothing line made in Mexico and China?

Not voting for Carson, but empty rhetoric is meaningless.

And yet, there is a reason Carson is surging in the polls just like Trump. Its the same reason that Rick Perry, a three term governor of one of the nation’s most populous, well-run states, barely registered in the polls and had to drop out. Its why other good governors are barely registering in the polls. Republican voters are completely sick of politics as usual. McConnell and Boehner have caused much, much more damage to the Republican Party than they understand. Republican voters have zero faith that any Republican politician, even conservative ones, can do anything. They are viewed as either back-stabbers who say one thing and do something else, or sincere but ultimately ineffective at advancing the conservative agenda. Trump and Carson are accomplished outsiders. Neither really has a “government” skillset. Trump may have more deal-making skills than Carson, but Carson is viewed as more consistent on certain social issues and viewed as a more committed Christian. It really goes to show how poorly conservatives view the entire group of Republican politicians.

Carson has no business experience and has never faced any tough negotiations - ever

I agree with all of that. However, to paraphrase another candidate, negotiating is an activity, not an accomplishment. McConnell and Boehner negotiate every day, but it's difficult to tell who's side they are on.

Negotiating for the conservative cause requires a conservative foundation as a base. Does Trump has a conservative base? Does Carson? Does Cruz? etc.

Well, that’s the last thing we have in the WH - look at the deals obama has made. We sure do need someone who knows how to make deals. Your comment is ridiculous.

There is nothing to indicate a doctor would be able to tell who that person would be. The nature of Trump's business empire means he does this sort of thing all the time.

You are correct that he exhibits poor judgment. Add to that his position that deportation is immoral and you have another potential President uninterested in enforcing our laws.

Absolutely. I really like Ben Carson. He's just not presidential material.

I would say, though, that he's head-and-shoulders above the current occupant of the White Hut.
