Shannon Watts: Anti-Gun Movement Using Same Techniques Anti-Tobacco Movement Used

On May 8, 2013–nearly a month after Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) gun control push failed to garner the votes necessary for passage–Breitbart News suggested that gun controllers’ new tactic would be to treat gun owners the way the left treated cigarette smokers and seek a myriad of restrictions for health and other reasons.

On September 10, 2o15, Moms Demand Action’s Shannon Watts explained that the her group’s relentless, Micheal Bloomberg-funded push for gun control is fashioned after the way others pursued “tighter [laws]” on smoking.

During an appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews, Watts claimed her gun control group is defeating the NRA by going around Congress to get “policies in place” at various businesses “just like they did with tighter [laws for] smoking.”

This is an old but often-used tactic, first espoused by then-U.S. Attorney Eric Holder in 1995. According to Newsbusters, Holder said:

The momunists continue to spread lies because if it just saves one life, a million lies are worth it.

Well, I don’t for sure but I do know that when we stopped folks from smoking in a particular control room and did a total clean up including wiping down the walls, there sure was a lot of gunk on the cleaning cloths. Kinda brown and semi-sticky. And yes, I still smoke. Never killed a hard drive of mine.

Did any member of the GOP ever made a scandal against the discrimination trough sales taxation?  And, I mean front page scandal!  Is it in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that some segments of population should be taxed more then the others based on what they purchase?  I don't think so!  This is another lost opportunity for the GOP to show some backbone and be right at the same time.

Or, if it saves one criminal life, a million rapes, torture and murders of innocents are worth it.

Is it really true that cigarette smoke causes computer hard drives to crash?

Unfortunately, it does. I had just set up a room full of 3b20 computers with removable disk packs at our new data center. The place was still under construction. The line up of 20 drives was running smoothly. A big "NO SMOKING" sign was posted on the door. One of the black construction guys figured he could break the rules. He walked into the server room and lit up a cigarette. A gawd awful screech and grind came out of one drive after the next. It cost $3,000 in parts/material/labor to repair the damaged heads, replace the disk packs, align the heads. I have no idea what the labor was to reload the data on them. The consequence was an immediate termination for the employee, a big bill for the construction company and a big lecture/training session for everyone to avoid a re-occurrence.

An accidental crash occurred at UCSD in a room with old laser printers that used liquid toner. A small earthquake jolted the printers off the table. They landed in a way that spilled toner on the hot fuser bars. The vaporized toner was sucked into the removable disk packs with an immediate crash. I think the UCSD site was rewarded with upgraded disk and laser printers to make them much less sensitive to another similar incident.

The time frame was 1983->1991 while I was employed at the PacBell Trade Street data center in San Diego.

Never allow ANY other person to decide what YOU need as an individual. The moment you give an inch on that principle, you have lost control of your life. The communists and Marxists love to believe that government can dictate the "needs" of the "governed". Cut them off at the knees whenever that concept arises.

Less than 30 percent of the population were smokers; the other 70 percent either couldn’t have cared less or positively hated having to deal with secondhand smoke. Given those numbers it was hard to sustain opposition to the anti-smoking crusaders.

Anti-smoking is absolutely the CORE of the liberal takeover of America. Using the “Surgeon General’s Report” in the early ‘60s, they discovered how they could make Americans bow and kowtow to a government edict. They must have chuckled and said at the time, “Geez, if we can make all these addicts quit their addiction, we can make them do ANYTHING!”

The NRA, Gun Owners of America, and other Second Amendment groups need to hound this gun-grabbing bitch Shannon Watts from the public arena.

"Anti-smoking is absolutely the CORE of the liberal takeover of America."

You are right!  They ran the test and all was a success for them.  The ignorant populace didn't even notice the mortal hit.  It is like being poisoned with a poison that has a delayed action.

Micheal Bloomberg-funded push for gun control

Some Jews never learn. Weren't gun grabbers a particular health problem say, around the late 1930's to mid 1940's?

Now that you mention it, I saw that thread you posted yesterday.

Good job.

The left-wing broads demand action types are trying to get a universal background check bill on the ballet here in Maine next year. It will be an uphill battle for these creeps. Private sales of firearms in Maine are common....private sales started here in the 1600’s.

Maine is Second Amendment country and Maine people don’t take kindly to a POS like Michael Bloomturd coming here from out-of-state and telling us how to live.

Constitutional Carry goes into effect next month here in Maine. No permit will be necessary to carry a firearm on your person or in your vehicle.

We already have Open Carry.

Is it really true that cigarette smoke causes computer hard drives to crash?

What difference does it make?

The addicts will mostly be dead soon, so just give it time.

Yup! They ran a petition here in NV last year and there will be a universal background check initiative on the ‘16 ballot which would regulate private sales like they’re trying to do to you guys. Based on the amount of signatures they got on the petitions, it’ll be an up hill battle for the pro gun folks thanks to bloomin’ idiots and the momunists.
